Show Us Your Latest Purchase - June 2012

Unread postby revengous » 1 Jun 12, 5:42 pm

Hello and welcome to the revised latest purchase topic you all know and love!

I'd recommend uploading it to a hosting site such as http://imgur.com, http://imageshack.us and http://tinypic.com, these are all easy and straight forward, or use another if you dislike those suggestions :).

Be honest, your phone probably has a camera. It's not hard to do the right thing :icon14:

If you spot that I'm missing a month and you can supply me with a link, please send me a PM anytime and I'll update the current monthly topic with the details :icon14:

And here we go!

p.s. hotlink an image and I will PUNCH YOU IN THE BALLS. maybe. Seriously this time.

2 reasons for this.

1. It's clean of SolidShield on Steam (which is more than I can say for Origin).
2. It's a fair price for Aussies (ie. no "**** you" tax).
DRM is like kids. The less you have, the better.

you bought something because of no '**** you tax' and not because you wanted it?

I've had my eye on Crysis 2 on PC for a while but the SolidShield DRM with a 5 machine limit + the "**** you" tax on Steam copies put me off (I wasn't all that impressed with it getting pulled from Steam either). Since those two problems have been resolved with the Maximum Edition, I bought it and just finished playing some MP on one of the GON servers (#4 I think).

How many machines are you going to install it on?

I would've installed it on 2 machines (my desktop and my laptop) but given the issues I've seen with SolidShield (activations being burned through driver updates being the main one) I didn't want to take any chances (plus the fact that such limits are unnecessary on Steam anyway).

Nonetheless, it's all irrelevant now.

If I didn't buy it when it came out (lol this guys an idiot, buying games when they come out) then I would get it, however paying 19.99 for 2 bits of DLC which should be one at most, it's a rip off.

I jumped into one of the GoN server that were active (to see how active MP was) with my 'limited edition' and saw the killcam and instantly quit, there's no way I'm going to pay them after the whole failure that was C2 if they can't even fix the game this long after launch.

Here's hoping C3 will be less of a complete failure from the get go.
