Thanks for the article mate, nice read.
The first few hours of the AH was a battle but once you have it sussed you can make a huge impact on your game experience. Here is a few additional things (in no particular order) that I want to add to the main article which may help GON readers. (some of them are self explanatory but hey, I have some time on my hands and sharing is caring)
* At this stage it appears you can only have a maximum of 10 items for sale at any given time and that's not per character created, its account wide. Each of those items will be there for a maximum of 2 days unless sold. In simple terms - don't waste those spots by trying to sell things that will never see a dime. As I say 'Better to sell lower and more often than higher and very rarely.'
* When you are searching for socketed items, keep an eye out for items that still have gems inside. Many great gems can be found cheaply and removed for later use. Do what you will with the socketed item after the Gem(s) are salvaged from your Jeweler, or crush the soceted item with gem(s) still inside for materials at the blacksmith and pay no fee for extracting the gem(s) < yes this works, and remember the higher the quality of the gem the more it costs to remove it if you use the jeweler.
* When search items are input and entered your next move should be to click the buyout tab so that you can go directly to the lowest price result that can be purchased outright without having to wait. I do this because sometimes you stumble across something so cheap it literally will disappear in the following seconds unless you buy it. You may miss this item say if you browsed from the most expensive item to the cheapest. N/A items are on a timer, browse through until you hit the lowest buyout and start there or look for something with literally minutes until expiry and see if its fallen under the radar. (this happens with highly popular items which have multiple page results)
* When you get around to making your toons (2nd 3rd 4th... characters) Don't underestimate the power of soceted items. Remember all those Gems you collected... yeah the ones with +30 to your required stat per gem... yeah well they will fit in your lowby characters gear too. There's nothing stopping you from placing high level gems into low level socketed gear and weapons. This is by far one of the easiest ways to blitz through your lower levels. I ran up a wizard with this strategy and the DPS was, well... godly.
I have more tips but I should really go play now. Enjoy guys.
