Used it first time yesterday, sold a few things. Was good getting extra cash but today I bought some items and nothing appeared for me. Got a transaction number and says completed in the complete tab but nothing to send to stash. My mate tried as well & got the same so we're hoping it will get sent once it comes back up. Pretty annoying.

A good number of people (myself included) are finding transactions aren't even showing up in the log. There's a fair share of threads on the Blizzard forums about this. My advice is to stay away from AH for the next day or two at least...

Yup, a bit frustrating, buying something that won't be any use if it takes a few hours to get to me, as by then I'd be looking to buy higher level gear.

Yeah I have about 200k worth of gold from successful auctions in limbo at the moment. It appears in my transaction logs, but the option to send the gold to my stash is missing. Will be rather disappointed if I lose that cash.

With my experiences on the AH, start low cost first, then work your way up if you're not happy with the offerings. The top level gear can be bought for a song if you look hard enough.

Got a 182 dps 2 hander sword with 117 str, 67 vit and a socket for 5k gold.

Well I the items I bought ended up in my stash, but because of the confusion over what I had bought previously, I ended up unneccesarily buying another WD mask I didn't need. Now I need to offload that back onto the store.

At the moment it's suffering from terrible lag/delays. It's hard to tell if you were a successful bid/buyout on a particular item. Yeah, I would still recommend avoiding it for now.

I was trying to use it just now and it went from horrid delays to not being able to search and then just flat out giving me errors about payment options.

i think blizzard have really stuffed up loot in this game, almost to the point of breaking the game, maybe it was just me but all through normal, nm and now into act3 hell ALL my gear has been bought off the AH. Level appropriate gear just doesn't drop for me. at all. ever. Its one thing to have to contend with getting gear that is A) for your class. B) itemized well (<-those i have no problem with) but C) to be consistently getting gear that is 10 levels lower then me all the way through 3 plays is pretty annoying. And from what i have read on the forums im not alone. It seems you basically play to get gear to sell to people lower then you, so you can afford buy gear from people higher then you.

This leaves the only practical way to get items from the AH which i find (AH bugs aside) pretty ****. Playing through the game with the very small expectation that any of the gear that drops will be of any use to you kind of kills my mood. My only hope is that inferno fixs this, tho to be honest from what iv heard of inferno, i might not make it that far

Really? I find a lot of level-appropriate loot.

The thing is you don't really need on-level rares to do well. I find level 36-40 gear while I'm in my early 40s, but it's very good.

AH makes it really easy to Min-Max. But the game itself isn't very hard anyway, and sub par items can be made up for with skill/positioning.

blizzard have already said they balanced drops around AH. if they didn't, they said it would just tank the economy. they have to assume people are going to use it, otherwise it becomes pointless.

I really like this part of games like this so I've been spending a bit of time on it. just last night I made about 300k from buying items cheap and reselling at a higher value. I've also been buying items to keep my character going well (only level 51 right now). actually now I think about it, I think only a 1/3 of my items are from AH, so I've been finding the drops have been pretty good.

blizzard have also said they are suspending the RMAH indefinitely. presumably until they sort out the problems with the GAH. the issues are fair enough. there would be millions of people hitting it all at the same time.

I agree in that the AH takes the chance/grind out of finding items that are equal or greater benefit to the items you already equip. Why debate whether to equip a greater armour item which gives more INT but loses out on VIT when you can jump on the AH and find an item which matches all the current stats and then some? And why bother wasting money upgrading and taking a chance at the blacksmith when the AH gives you exactly what you need?

I finished normal playthrough without touching the AH. But on the harder difficulty levels I can't be bothered waiting for that one item which hopefully will give all benefits (i.e. the green writing when comparing items).

This little bit works both ways though. I love upgrading my BS/Jeweler and when he makes something my char doesn't need I sell it on the AH :D win win.

it's a tricky situation as I mentioned. if they increased drops the AH would become flooded with awesome items. if they remove the AH people would most likely complain.

in D2 you typically needed to trade to get a full load out of items that would allow you to perform in hell. so it hasn't changed all that much.

and on your point with the blacksmith, I completely agree. he is nearly pointless. I haven't used him since normal, so maybe his items get better.

it does feel like something needs to be done somewhere, but it's hard thinking of what to do.

one thing I guess they could do is change items so legendary items are far better than any rare, but also change rare items so that very few are awesome, but the rest are okay-good. this would mean people can do up to hell and maybe some inferno finding with relatively common items, but probably need to go onto AH to get the best items.
