Android App Released to Track Diablo III Server Status

Unread postby News Portal » 20 May 12, 12:43 pm

In what can surely only be described as a Sign of the Times, an Android app is now available that tells you whether or not the Diablo III servers are up, down, or shaking it all around. The Diablo 3 Server Checker is made by Eluamous , who are also responsible for WoW Realm Checker and SWTOR Server Checker apps. Grab it, and plan your day accordingly.

The fact you have to be connected to a US server to play is terrible. That you have to rely on the server being up, being forced to play at the hours they allow you to play, that's the terrible part.
The actual game however is great.

It's kind of sad that an app like this is needed for what should have been an offline/LAN/direct connect game.

Tis a sad day when a singleplayer game requires a separate app to let you know that potentially you could play that game. Would be good for peeps who can organise their life around their gaming I suppose :P

Funny, I work 9-5 and haven't had a problem logging in after work short of when it was released an am currently level 58... Haven't had a problem this weekend either. Latency is fine for having to connect to an American server. Also to be fair as long as you have friends you don't even play this game by yourself. Pretty much exactly the same as D2.

Maybe people should read the notice on their login screen so they aren't trying to login during scheduled maintinance. Considering this app is just parsing what is already available on the Blizzard website it's not like it's anything out of the ordinary.

Haters gonna hate.

it's ridiculous that the latency of my network connection actually impacts on a singleplayer game that i'm playing though.

i was unable to play earlier today because my internet was running slowly (higher bandwidth going to a different computer) and the game was **** up with ~800-1500ms ping, making me teleport all over the screen and lag out.

what the actual ****.

My decision to not buy/play this game anytime this year is really paying dividends :P

well, as much as everyone publicly hates on it for that part, the gameplay is amazing.

Sign of the Times indeed.
The reason it's deployed the way it is, is because of piracy, plain and simple.

Servers are getting under control from my what I can tell. Yes, it was annoying to start off with but I've been able to get into a game the 3-4 short sessions I've loaded up the game today. As such, I have a raft of level 7-11 characters and a mule.

Latency is usually 200-400ms which is suppose to be normal from what I hear. There are some spikes but wait a minute or so and they usually get under control eventually.

I got an idea, lets complain about "online only" after buying the game and also knowing about this for like a year. Besides, the only login issues i've had was at release for about an hour. 5 million people all trying to squish through a login server at the exact same time is bound to have problems. Played about 40 odd hours so far, absolutely 0 problems, such an epic game.

They did claim to have a special anti lag system.
I guess it isn't finished yet.

the latency is such a ****. Trying to beat Captain Instagib (belial) with your glass cannon while the lag prevents you from being able to dodge away from telegraphed attacks sucks.
