Convince Diablo Doubters With Diablo III: Starter Edition

I enjoyed Diablo 1 , played it tones of times coop with mates via LAN at my place or friends or at LAN Partys. Never bothered with it online. Never really got into the second game. I think around the time Diablo 2 came out we all had 3DFX Cards (Using Glide API in Diablo 2 and NFS 2 SE gave you special rain effects) but were playing Doom1/2 , Quake 1/2 , Red Alert 2 , Warcraft 2 , UT99 and the classic worms games.

I will be saving my money for Torchlight 2 which for US$20 . You can play offline without needing an online DRM server to connect to . You can play coop LAN and coop Online.Plus its the same exact cost in AU/NZ/EU/USA unlike Diablo 3

If Internode mirrored the D3 Starter edition I would download it from free traffic but I wouldnt waste gigs of quota on it .

Im not minding D3.. apart from the obvious server issues for the last 2 days..
and the random massive lag spikes rubberbanding my toon about...

Wife played it for 30min... (shes never played d1/2) went like this:

What do you mean I cant circle strafe and shoot ?
Can I change the camera angle so I can actually SEE things ?

Oh well, was hoping she would like it.
1x playthrough for my demon hunter then I will probably uninstall until they release more content.

You can circle strafe just fine. There's a skill called 'Strafe'.

30 day wait is for the proper demo from battlenet. The starter pack keys from the collector's editions work fine right now.

I could believe this. I had a tonne of port problems with battlenet. Tried everything, only thing that worked was putting my PC in the DMZ!
I think different people have different luck with different modems too.

heh, I would be playing it if they had a proper skill tree, but I need some strategy within my A-RPG's. I've always liked the planning element of A-RPG's but Diablo 3 seemed too easy on that front.
