Blizzard Release Diablo III Launch Update Message, RMAH Delayed

Unread postby News Portal » 17 May 12, 1:42 pm

"Despite very aggressive projections, our preparations for the launch of the game did not go far enough," reads the statement by Community Manager Bashiok on the Diablo III forums. "In order to make sure everything is continuing to run as it should, we’ve decided to move out our target launch for the real-money auction house beyond our original estimated date of May 22." The post also addresses problems with the achievement system and notes that further measures, and maintenance, will be taken as needed.

did not go far enough

Understatement of the year. The US midnight launch was more like US 4am launch by the time people could log on, and that was only because half of them gave up and went to bed.

However, I am enjoying the **** out of it now. :)

D3 has been pretty sweet so far. No complaints here

indeed, most of my friends payed the aus tax to play it and feel out the bugs, im sitting back chilled knowing I got it almost 50% cheaper and having it delivered to my door, bug free. patience is a virtue.

Great game but very un-blizzard like, there is none of the polish that I have come to expect from there previous games.

Also very frustrating that servers being down stops single-player also I lag in single-player while downloading.......

It does feel this way. I don't know about any of the WoW stuff (never been interested) but up until now every Blizzard game I've purchased on release date has been rather nice. Seems they've dropped the ball this time.

Indeed. Frustrates me a lot. I have currently no intention of multiplaying, why should I have to put up with server outages and shutdowns?

What part of the game has been at all unpolished? I'd love to know, genuinely. Servers do not count as part of the game so don't even think of giving that as a reason. I'm talking the actual GAME.

This whole online only complaint needs to die in a fire.

Derp..

Big W had it for $58 on release day.. If your complaining about that, your a bit tight. If you only have the foresight to shop at EB Games, then its your own fault.

Servers do not count as part of the game so don't even think of giving that as a reason

Except you can't play the game because of the servers.. What a ridiculous statement.

Well I am enjoying every minute of my time while playing D3. Love playing solo then inviting some friends to my game. I save up all my cool loot and post it up on the auction house before I quit the game. Having the server go down means I can unplug my self long enough to eat and sleep :P

Except the servers are simply the infrastructure the game runs on and not something that has anything to do with the gameplay itself. Ridiculous I know.
