omg so i played for 15 minutes this morning before work (finally got a spot).

some dickhead see's me at the petrol station just east of cherno and is like. hey. someone i can kill. I try to tell the wanker not to shoot as the zombies might notice. sure enough he does. sure enough we both die.

I cant wait to play more!!!

The in-game map shows English names of towns while the actual signs for towns in-game are in Russian. Makes it kind of annoying to work out what town you're at, so I use http://www.avidblur.com/arma2 for a map.

LOL. 40 slots? LOL. In less than a month, that number is now over 200! Yes, 200 slots won't even be enough to satisfy local demand.

We've got 190 slots running now during the day, and most are pretty full. It's the middle of a freaking week day! Some servers have lower numbers because they've got lots of Hive problems today, but at 11:45AM I checked and we only had 11 empty slots across 6 servers, running 190 total slots. Ouch!

AusArmA will be running another 2 servers in a day or two (hopefully to meet weekend surge in demand). ON3 (NZ) is coming online soon with a server I think, but will probably just cater to NZ players.

I don't want to underestimate DayZ demand (again), but it looks like we should be good in a few days to satisfy demand even during peak periods so everyone can get a slot. Time to put in some annual leave at work, make up a fake holiday to tell your loved ones, and get a nice bum cushion for your computer chair.

I can now launch the game, however every time I join a server and get into game, it sits on the waiting for response page, lame. Will try later.

Just leave at the waiting for server response message and it will eventually load in.

It can take up to 5-10 minutes sometimes.

I had issues due to my Anti Virus and Firewall, might be somethign to look into if you haven't already.

He's probably trying to join servers that havent been restarted in ages, if there's less than 15 people in a server it's usually a good indicator that it's stuffed and needs a restart. You also need to remember that sometimes it can take 5 minutes to join.

I'd have better luck playing D3 than I would DayZ - complete reinstall, no firewall, updated installation files.. now get "Addon 'dayz_code' requires addon 'CABuildingParts', and now can't join any servers due to not having the required mod.

That is because you have launched it wrong.

Go to Arma Operation Arrowhead in Steam, right click and choose properties. Now add this line into the launch options

-mod=@DayZ

Then launch Arma OA and choose "Launch ArmA 2 Combined Operations". You will know it has worked as it won't spit errors at you, and in top right of front end menu it will say in small text @DayZ.
