GON is remaining powered by Internode, GON and 3FL servers/branding will remain intact, iinet's freezone(s) hasn't gone anywhere.

Only the forum/news bits will be under the one umbrella, you were wrong on every other count.

All kidding aside, it will be good for everyone. As it's been mentioned by both sides we bring different things to the party, iiNet with hardware etc and GON with our news site and forums among other things (and our willingness to gasbag about everything and anything).

We may be the bigger brother, but I'm optimistic in that those who are active 3fl commumity members will be more than happy to bring their input and contribution over to GON. You'll find that those who whinge the most (but I seriously think they're far and few between) will just go somewhere else.

P.S. We need some kind of welcome thread when the merger does hapopen

I can't say active as I honestly do not read 3FL that often, but if we are to go by the forum stats they have 112934 members, although I am not quite sure how as GON have 114589 and GON seem 10x more popular in the forums. So maybe 100000 3fl members signed up to appeal bans?

The only problem I had from reading this, was thinking "but man, 3FL bloody sucks, there website is terrible, the layouts, etc etc. I never go there for gaming, EVER. I don't really like iiNet that much.

So I'm totally thankful they're Merging with GON and not the other way around. I like more unmetered content (Well did, before I got unlimited ADSL2+) But I was just sad thinking 3FL would ruin what we have here.. Really hope that doesn't happen.

By the way, The banner ad being all green and black are 2 colours that really don't represent GON at all anymore, Is there a chance it'll get a make over? a nice rich black and green website? Or is it just a banner made up ? I like the pattern and the banner, the colours and all of it from the banner, a website in that design would rule.

Short story - I LOVE GON! Please don't let 3FL change ANYTHING! Run it the way you've always run it, 3FL have nothing on GON and I don't want their input to change / kill the way GON is right now.
