In terms of servers being able to handle the load it was the worst, not too bad in other aspects. Unfortunately Blizzard are one of those companies who don't stress too much about that kind of thing, god only knows why they didn't design it with a queue system for when the login server is REALLY stressed.

I had the same login server issue. Game was installed by 6pm - didn't get playing till 7. Once in though it was pretty smooth sailing. Played solo for an hour then logged off for dinner and was able to log straight back in around 9.

Wonder how many peeps around the world where all trying to get goin ? Bah-zillions?

Just hoped online this morning to find that the game had trouble retrieving the character list. It then loaded up an invisible level 0 character. I could change to another character thankfully but I sure hope I don't lose all my characters.

Gamed for a bit and then the system then stated that they were going to be shutting down for maintenance in 15min... wonder how long that'll last for?

I had and have had zero issues. Logged in at exactly 5pm. Sure it took about 10 seconds to authenticate or whatever but then straight to character creation and then in game.

That said, I stood in the one spot for almost an hour waiting for my friends to get online so we could all play together. Sigh.

I had a few issues but not too bad all in all. I spend most of the night gatecrashing other peoples games :P First jumped in with Celty and Frosty, played a few of the first few missions, quit out to have dinner then after that had a few issues getting in. Managed to after a few tries then saw another mate just starting a new level 1 guy, so rolled a Wizard and went with him. A few mins after that another mate invited us both to join him and another guy, and between the 4 of us smashed our way to just past the skeleton king. So overall I think I played solo for all of 5 minutes or so, and only really had about 10 minutes where the game didn't do what I wanted it to.

So my verdict is not too bad a launch, considering.

I didn't have any problems really, tried at around 5pm but timed out, so i watched Game of Thrones then tried after and i was in =)

Sounds fun Sathias, i might have to join some others games tonight, I've added everyone from the Battletag list so far.

It worked pretty well, you can see what level everyone in the party is and what quest they are up to, so it makes it easy to judge what games are suitable :)

This is the part which got me (having never played the beta). I invited my brother who was about 5 levels and 2 quests ahead. When he joined my game it advanced to his level (ie cain was there, some new map levels). After playing a bit with him I've decided to play on my own.

I wasn't too upset over the launch, but I was expecting issues with millions of players all trying to connect at the same time.

Servers are down now though, went down mid fight with no warning.

Finally got it downloaded and the servers are down.

Bit worried that the actual game will be of a similar quality to the rest of the experience.

After the initial problems of everyone trying to login, once we got in everything was smooth as silk. Started with a group of 4, ended up being 2 of us left at midnight finishing act 1. Awesome experience. Here I was thinking act 1 was the full thing in the beta, seemed to be about 1/3 of it :)
