I couldn't care less about the stolen generation, I'm more interested in Aboriginal culture pre European Settlement.. it seems most Aboriginal History starts at European Settlement though :/

I'm glad there are people who think they're more entitled than every other sick person in the hospital.

Sure, vent here if it makes you feel better but the bottom line is the people at the hospital are doing the best they can to help everybody. Stress less, you're not going to catch Ebola just because you're sharing a room with a few other people.

Being told explicitly that she needs to stay isolated by both the cardiac fellows and respiratory team... Yeah, it's just me being a fussy parent.

If you have no idea of our situation feel free to keep your comments to yourself.

dodger, he probably hasnt spent time in a hospital with one of his own kids to know that only 1 in 5 nurses acutally know their jobs and give a **** about doing their jobs correctly.
And nurses are the ones who run hospitals.
You probably didnt have a clue about that yourself until 2 weeks ago.

I have been following your situation mate, I don't want to sound insensitive or insulting but let me explain where I'm coming from. While I haven't experienced what you have as a father, I have put my own dad through it as the one who's life was in the balance as a new born, young child and again in my teens and I've been dicked by the hospital on several occasions.

The most important thing my dad did during those times was keep his composure, you have every right to be concerned about everything that's happening at the moment but you've got to keep your head screwed on straight. While I obviously don't remember what happened as a baby I'm sure I would have been somewhat aware of my parents and how they were feeling, babies are very perceptive despite not being able to express themselves very well.

I'm sorry to upset you, I was far too blunt before but I basically just wanted to say that things are going to work out. Even if you have some hiccups like this along the way, I'm sure you'll have your whole family back at home very soon. Just hang in there mate, that's what my dad always told me while recounting my times in hospital.

My missus is a nurse... Used to work here in fact (Royal Alexandria Hospital for children, Westmead). Trust me, we both know the system inside out.

We've got friends here and turns out we got bumped for a private patient, very low risk (basically staying for obs) and should be gone in two days tops.
