Gearbox Boss Talks Colonial Marines and How It Fits Aliens Canon

There's a lot of focus on all things Alien lately, with the many trailers for Prometheus getting lots of attention from the public. So now seems like a good time for Gearbox Software to talk about Aliens: Colonial Marines and how it fits in to the Ridley Scott legend. Over at Kotaku, Randy Pitchford, head of the studio, does just that. If you've got a head for the canon, it's a good read, and does a lot to make this reporter excited for the release in autumn (Australian spring).

I love the concept but I don't agree with tying things in with Alien 3. Alien 3 shouldn't have happened, they went in the wrong direction. I can't imagine there would be anything left of Hadley's Hope though to go back for in the game....

I hear you, but I always like it when they DO touch on Alien 3 because it's kinda the ugly cousin of the Alien universe, and the more I can hear about it the more accepting I am of it - if that makes sense.

i enjoy Aliens3 and think its great that a decent film survived the production nightmare that it went through!
