I don't think there is any "start" time ..just post your fun related stuff over the next weeks, is how I see it. I just thought I would kick start it with something silly (plus I love the Dukes of Hazard horn!..my neighbours will hate me now lol). Will do more when time allows.

Should I ever need to jump a river, or if Boss Hogg ever sends the local law enforcement after me, I'll be set! (phone camera sucks inside)

Wheel is off its "WheelStandPro" at the moment :( a compromise I have had to make to be able to use my pedals for flight rudder controls.

That is fantastic.

I was after a copy a while ago but obviously couldn't find one. :( I think i'd need to involve myself more in these parts of the forums* before i'd be worthy of any such prize. Also I can't photoshop. >_>

*I have a wheel that needs to be used and I used to LOVE racing games! I think AI that would either lap me constantly or would provide no challenge was what eventually turned me off them, I want a middle ground of heart pounding bumper to bumper action! T_T
*Insert negative stuff here.*

well RBR is most certainly a challenge. I have tried most rally games over the past few years but none have had the "simulation" of a rally car down as well as RBR did. Still fun and potentially more fun than RBR if that is what you are looking for. But if it is a driving challenge you are after, RBR is it :)

Hell yeah, it's a brutally tough game. People should probably start seeing now why I've said you should be happy to finish a single stage, let alone compete with others.

Hopefully the copies don't go quickly. Uni just got nuts. Hoping to do something in the hollies.

A little go at RBR (much clearer in 720p). The ghost car is a lap driven by the late Richard Burns. This is the "rally school" stage, one of the easiest in the game.

Nice

Nice margin to win by too. As Sir Jack once said, winning in the slowest possible time is what it is all about. :)

Wow, only those who've played knows how goddamned impressive that was! Outstanding.

It might be the easiest lap but I almost broke a few monitors and my G25 just trying to PASS that stage, let alone beat Burns himself.

For instance, here's my best attempt at the Rally School Final Stage...

I like that saying :) I did about three runs of the stage when I recorded this, and just about everytime it was pretty close at the end, but 0.03 split at the end was most enjoyable, is no need to win by more :)

@Mellie, still a decent run there mate, I spent plenty of time in the past doing that stage and cursing too.

I think since then two things have changed for me, first being I have the FFB settings feeling good for me in this game, and the 2nd being I have learnt just to take it much easier, slow down, and take it one corner at a time.

Like it often says in the game, if you are crashing too often, you are driving too fast. The slower I drive the faster my times seem to be :) I could blitz (and have) that rally school stage probably about 3 seconds faster than in that vid, but I would crash 3 times as mush trying to get it right.

I kinda just want to play it now.

Do you guys use the H-Pattern shifter and a clutch?

Nope (as I use a DFGT Wheel, no clutch with it), WRC cars don't use a H-Pattern anyway, they use sequential shifters and the clutch in a WRC car is really just for the starts as far as I am aware, it is all clutch free changing after that.

@Mellie, I just noticed your lap time, and if you pause at the end of mine you will see we are only 0.07 apart. I think your lap was a bit wilder and "slidey" but you held the speed up, where mine was a bit more stable, less sliding and in the end worked out we were very close. (1.22.0 vs 1.22.07)

That link, and time frame in vid, contains some very useful info on setting RBR correctly, for widescreen and wheel FFB.

And this patch - http://games.on.net/file/9200/Richard_B ... 1.02_patch

DEMO Version here - http://games.on.net/filelist.php?app=2440&menu=5

Matty, I found the best physical setup for the G25 is to use paddle gears (as mclaren says, that's how they should be) then turn your H-shifter into Sequential and use Down on that for handbrake. Feels great to yank down on it for tight corners.

Now I just want to set the handbrake up lower like the video I posted earlier in the thread.

Anywho, been ages since I've been on my main PC, looking forward to getting in a few hours of RBR and A10 tomorrow I reckon.

Well said mclaren.

That's the biggest lesson I learnt from RBR and I've carried that mind set on to all other racing/driving games since.

As soon as you are able to resist the urge to drive at 100% all the time and drive more like 90%....all of a sudden you get consistancy.
