You need to pack up the campfire before you can build another one.

It vanishes after you log out.

And before anyone says no it doesn't well it does for me and I've been using the same box of matches for 14 days.

Anyluck on Internode working something out with the DayZ devs to get a(few) aussie servers up?

Apparently TelstraClear in NZ are trying to work something out with them aswell.

Nah, I sent out enquiries to those who'd be in the know and it appears that Internode will not be setting up a DayZ server. AusArmA is working something else out though; see Freeborne's post above.

The AusArmA server went up last night. 50 slots.

When it starts up, performance is brilliant. Occasionally the mission will glitch, and zombies will keep spawning, and server FPS drops, and other issues start popping up like unable to load character when rejoining, etc.

A few times that's been fixed by starting the Hive application they have that saves everyone's gear and position. Otherwise ARMA2 app had to be started as well.

Slots are dropped to 40 at the moment while monitoring performance, etc.

 3 new servers for us

EDIT: DAMMIT! First time I've gotten in in ages and within seconds of logging in "severs will be down in 2 min"

Someone...anyone, help! Basker and myself are trapped on an island and he's been drinking seawater. I caught him talking to a sheep.

Please hurry.

Yeah, he was talking about being stuck on an island earlier today. How did that happen? He seemed to reckon he needed a boat to get off, but how did you get there in the first place?

You can do what I did (after accidentally falling into the ocean) and just start again from scratch with nothing but bandages and a revolver for company. How I survived long enough to restock is a mystery to me... Going bandit hunting in cherno now. Just me and my enfield.

We went to the island on HMS Baskerville on another server. Once we got to the island I borrowed the boat to find a weapon at the Chernogorsk apartments and parked it near some rocks. The server then proceeds to die/go down or something and the boat is nowhere to be found, leaving EasyC and Baskerville stranded :)

Berezino has amazing loot and is an excellent place to gather supplies. Despite the fact it spawns about 300 zombies and lags the server because of all the damn buildings...

Baskerville found himself a boat, he was out of sight of land daytripping in the rain and he ran out of fuel, that was the last I saw of him.

Well just joined some server and got shot while loading up my character... f*cking great.

It sucks when a server crashes and leaves you character standing in the middle of an airfield...

* Running with a mate to check the electro power station for something shooty for him before we log for the night

* decide to speed things up and cross the prairie to the north closer to the approach rather than go all the way around

* mid field we hear a shot and seek cover, a second shot whips over my head from the south

* I find a dip in the terrain and wait for the zombies to show me where the shot came from

* they pile into the tower and the shooting starts, tango forgets about us because he's bottled in by 8ish zombies

* mfw I'm carrying a 7x64mm, k98 bolt pattern, Czech tack driver and the undead have driven him infront of a window

* it hammers him to the ground like a blow from the righteous fist of an angry god at 400 meters

Kalashnikov x 2 +5 mags
Gucci shotgun
7mm ammo
painkillers
compass
binoculars

* my partner puts him down like a rabid dog with his sidearm

This is about the point where I notice there are too many corpses and the Tango only has a pistol, i think the poor guy ran in looking for loot and there was a zombie on the top floor... his breathing made his second shot miss and it just happened to zing by me a few hundred yards out, either that or he was stupid enough to take a potshot without checking me in his binocs first.

Feels bad man

I'm enjoying having a friend in game and on TS for once though, makes things much safer and when you get bottled in one of you can hit the tree line under cover fire and flank the enemy, the potential for mixed range weapons is nice too.

Haha, nice. Probably right that he was just some poor bugger, doubt anyone would try pinging you from range with a pistol, at least nobody having a seriouse shot at it. Wrong place, wrong time, bad aim.

I'm in cherno bandit hunting at the moment, because I havn't come across any yet and I figure that at least one of them has to have the map and binocs I've been searching for the whole weekend :x
Was observing a building crawling with players to see if they were bandits or not when a visual glitch forced me to quit and the server filled.

Camped out on top of a coffee shop for the night. The more I think about it though, the less I think I have the right weapon for the job. Like baskerville said to me in game, 'my enfield brings all the z's to the yard'. Bloody loud weapon. Accurate and powerful though.
