TESO will stick to what are now traditional MMO mechanics in a large way, with a third-person camera, a skill hotbar, classes and experience point progression. There is no mention of the first-person perspective. The level cap is expected to take around 120 hours to reach per character.

Oh for **** sake. Can't anyone break the same old tired MMO formula?

True. It would be nice for it to actually feel like an elder scrolls game rather then another WoW rip off.

I will say that;

The central providence of Cyrodiil forms the end-game PVP battleground and is intended to support 100-a-side battles in some of the keep areas

Sounds AWESOME!

Dunno how much PvP junkies will be left though once GW2 ships.

i mean GW2 essentially has a complete array and set of PvP, either the small structured PvP or the massive large scale WvW with 3 sides battle royal in the Mist.

Just when I thought the elder scrolls couldn't get any more boring.

For this to work they need to replicate the current Elder Scrolls control method! We really dont need another WoW clone

I think what the developers fail to recognize, is the fact that all the people that are screaming for an Elder Scrolls MMO want the same games they've been playing, but in an online version. Jumping to different game engines - graphics, controls, mechanics, etc. is NOT what people have asked for.

We can't say for certain whether it would be a good game or not...it could be. That does not change the fact that it's going to be completely different from what people are asking for...and to top it off, they're fobbing the job off onto some other company that know nothing about the creation of an Elder Scrolls game.

It's like if Nintendo decided to have Squaresoft create all future Zelda games - we couldn't say if they'd be good or not, but they'd be totally different from what we'd expect.

No, just no
Seriously NO There's enough fantasy MMO's out their stick to what you do best Single player experiences maybe tack on co-op.

I love the elder scrolls universe but this is a horrible concept

Idiots! As everyone said already, all we wanted was the same mechanics all the previous elder scrolls had but online with so we can play with other people.

How sad, i don't even like MMO sorta games, but i would have given this a try if it was more faithful to games original controls/mechanics. Not even first person...that's really ****!

It's running on the Hero engine...

Same engine as SWTOR. Expect a similar standard of restriction to the game world.

So with all this information, its just fantasy SWTOR? Its only unique feature is the story setting, which is what SWTOR's main pull was.

I read that it will have a 100v100 battle area. Then someone posted that it is using the SWTOR engine. Because massive illum battles worked so well right.

"It needs to be comfortable for people who are coming in from a typical massively multiplayer game that has the same control mechanisms, but it also has to appeal to Skyrim players."

So basically they are making an MMO to try and get a slice of the over-done-MMO Pie and then call it "Elder Scrolls" to try and make it seem like it will be good like the last few ES games (if I can call the last few Bethesda games good).

Umm, I think the sales of Skyrim alone shows that it ONLY needs to appeal to people who play Skyrim for them to make a butt-load of cash.

Argument invalid.
