I don't think it matters how many eye patches one of those hairy parrot loving raggamuffins has. The game is online only. It'll be a long while before they eyepatch the game to run standalone and stable.

Well if I understand correctly, all the data for skills(damage/cd/rangetypeetc.)/monsters (hps/ai/attack/speed etc.) and items (stats) is server side, so unless you want to reverse engineer the entire game all you can do is run around empty maps and spawn graphics of mobs.

Yes I have taken the year sub deal but that don’t make D3 free only in your mind, If not for the deal I would still be out of WoW.
Going to be crazy times atm with GW2 and D3 although GW2 had there Beta on last weekend and I have not seen much said about it really work kept me out of the fun last week but I am sure there will be another One before release

My guess is if anyone tries to do it, it will be something like how people make private wow servers.

Last time somebody tried a BNet emulator Blizzard came down on them like a tonne of bricks if I recall.
