Diablo III Start Times Announced

Unread postby News Portal » 27 Apr 12, 10:18 am

Blizzard have announced the times that the Diablo III servers will be going live on May 15. Even if you buy the game at 9AM that morning, you will not be able to play the game before this time - though you will be able to install it, lock your doors, pull down your blinds and crack open the first of 300 cans of beans in preparation. Those times are:
  • New Zealand Standard Time: 7:00 PM
  • Australian Eastern Standard Time: 5:00 PM
  • Australian Central Standard Time: 4:30 PM
  • Australian Western Standard Time: 3:00 PM

Part of me is going "Why? I wanna play SOONER!"

The other part is giving off a sadistic chuckle as I think of a mate of mine, screaming in agony as he installs and attempts to play it the first time, after rushing in and buying it the instant it hits the shelves.

(although he does visit GON so he probably already knows...drat)

I could just imagine all those who go in for a midnight launch coming home installing then having to wait another 17hours before the servers go live.

I expect that there'll be 5PM launches for Diablo 3.

Meh, I'll still have to wait for my super-awesome-your-so-jelly collectors edition to turn up anyway.

Had a collectors on preorder at my local EB for months so I can pick it up in store. As soon as the release date was announced you had to preorder from their site. My poor brother has a preorder with Game... he's gonna be mad when they don't have his copy.

I tried to warn him but he wanted to be cheap and only place a $10 deposit and not the $50 EB asked for.

Well I'll be leaving work 3 - 3:30ish that day, here's hoping the servers won't **** themselves when launch starts!

Not much of an impact here, I'll be waiting a little while for my collectors edition to be sent from JB Hifi... should have it by the weekend I'd say and I won't have time to play it beforehand anyway.

And this is the reason why I'm not installing the game until my assignments are done. God knows what Diablo 2 did to my grades when I was doing my undergrad degrees. Don't need Diablo 3 repeating history.
