Yeah I really liked how they presented Harrenhal.

I'm looking forward to seeing how brutal they make the Bloody Mummers, I also thought the actor they picked for Roose Bolton was well cast, it was nice seeing they kept the flayed man on his breastplate (with what looked dodgily unlike animal leather).

Loving this show.. but I'm very glad I've read the books. I'm not sure how well I'd be coping with the plot without it.

I don't think we've seen Vargo yet have we? The torturer in Harrenhal looked pretty good but Hoat was meant to be foreign and iirc he came in with Lannister when he got there. Soon as I saw that torturer and his "not a single **** given" attitude it started me wondering but i can't see anything about him being cast on the net.

Hoat was the tall dude picking who gets tortured....at least that was the conclusion I drew. He had an accent, looked goaty and was in Lannister colours. If they don't have Stannis' daughter in the series they won't be making the distinction between merc/lannister men.

Yep, that was Gregor Clegane, iirc Hoat turned up with Tywin Lannister and was left to help garrison the place, hopefully they go nuts with the mummers costumes and give them ragged motley and tabard combinations.

edit: LOL

Nice to finally start seeing some fantasy in this fantasy series, though perhaps not what I expected even if for some reason I wasn't surprised.

Omg Joffrey is so evil. I swear he's getting more evil each episode.

Hidden: show
Confused as to why they didn't have a scene when Tyrion finds the prostitutes given Joffrey wanted him to see what he had done. Would have expected some sort of fallout over it.

Also tell the truth. In the book Sansa was actually completely stripped wasn't she?

Not having an issue at all for the most part personally.

Ditto. Can't remember the last show I watched week by week. Might have been the first half of the first season of Stargate Atlantis. Yeah, that long ago. :?

Everything I watch is week by week... Along with Game Of Thrones I'm currently watching Community, Fringe and The Borgias.

book/tv answering exe3's Q.
Hidden: show
Yes she was stripped naked. I believe we will see the results of Joffrey's attentions next episode. Just like we will see the result of Mellisandre's shadow birth.

So I may or may not be looking at possibly maybe getting a few of the Ice and Fire books. Was wondering if anyone knew the state of their release such as can you still get the original release versions or are the TV show branded ones the only ones available now and whether or not they're in paperback or hardcover (I swear the last time I saw them they were hardcover but that was maybe last year and thus only part of an initial rerelease) and what the size of the books are, i'd rather be getting large books rather than the small almost pocket sized ones given how thick they are. Also I hope I can get the Storm of Swords version that wasn't split in half (confused at how each part is 600ish pages long yet the complete version is only 900ish).

I guess the difference is that I find pretty much nothing worthy of watching week to week let alone watching at all these days. I really want a new 'space opera' show, here's hoping the Star Wars TV series gets made one day i guess. :(

The difference is that Melisandre was the episodes cliffhangar where as the 'attendants' (assuming we're talking of the same thing) felt like they had been forgotten about. There was even a scene with Tyrion after that scene and he didn't seem to know about what happened to the prostitutes making it seem like the event had just been forgotten about.

The books are like 800-950 pages each for the first two.
