The amount of people wtf'ing at Prophet being in Crysis 3 is prime example of people not following the story.

however to be honest, the part that REALLY draws me in Crysis 1 that was missing big time wasn't the visual, and it wasn't JUST the sandbox either, it was the combination of the wide open space AND the ENEMY AI inhabiting it... ie: the lovable poor North Koreans who got
punched, flattened, shot, stabbed, stalked, hunted down, blown off, thrown off the cliff, frozen, rammed by a very large and heavy object at terminal velocity among other things.
lol, sorry, had toWhat happened to Crysis 1 telling us the aliens like the cold, fly around and aren't humanoid? Oh that't Crysis 2 happened...

Also, the true alien form can be seen in the Core level in C1 (compare the jelly from C1 to the jelly in C2 and you'll see the similarity), everything else is exo-suit and the reason for them switching from big airborne squids to bi-pedal units was because they adapted to the environment they needed to secure - the cities, where all the meat is.![]()
Many people think the game/story was gutted in Crysis 2. That's wrong. It was explained more and expanded on more. People forget that this is a sci-fi story involving alien technology which is automatic explanation for most things "wtf". In addition, it's a game with actual story and depth (alternative: zomg Russians stole a nuke and we have to kill everyone!) which many have trouble following/understanding (which is fine, i had to have the Matrix explained to me, no shame) but to write it off as stupid/inconsistent because it's not understood ain't right.
The amount of people wtf'ing at Prophet being in Crysis 3 is prime example of people not following the story. There's plenty of story info available on the web, the Crysis wikia page is a good source. You can be sure with the 3rd instalment there's going to be more "wtfbbq" coming so pay attention

Is this Crysis going to have magical suppressed weapons that make a tiny little 'ptew ptew' when they fire?
That really does annoy me to no end…

Not without installing Blackfire's Mod 2 for the orgasmicly amazing visuals…steve_rogers42 wrote:I think ima have to get Crysis 2 and run a playthrough... C3 looks to be pretty rad!
I've been following the Crysis series since 2006, played the arse out of all 3 MP games and only been working here for a year. So, fair to say my response would've been the sameAt0mic wrote:<snip - just realised Shinanigans is a PR lacky for CryTek. This explains everything.>
The flash freeze is what formed the giant sphere on the island, which emanated from the ship buried in the ground. As far as we know, there were no ships in NYC to cause this. I guess one explanation would be that freezing stuff on an open island works but maybe not so much in a city. You'll notice the Ceph actually turned to a more heat-based destruction in their weaponry to deal with the more reinforced setup of a city (keeping in mind that the Ceph's goal is to liquidate humanity, which means heading to where the most humans are). You'll see more of this in C3 too!1) Why was that island in the sky? Why stop at freezing stuff at all?
Because it's the main spore. It's the final level! One could assume they were trying to secure their last line of defense from human interference.2) How is taking an island (for no reason) up into the air... upping the ante? "Oh Ceph are in the sky now!" as if they weren't flying around in Crysis 1.
This is not explained in the game, but you'd have to read the 6-part comic book tie-in if you want to know the answer to that.3) Prophet still alive was obvious at the end, but it was still stupid and unexpected in a completly non-logical way. It was Deus Ex Machina. Why introduce Alcatraz at all? Why not just have Nomad return to NY and then come across Prophet and unravel the mystery of the island and have Prophet gradually take over more and more so that by the last mission we have become Prophet instead of in the last 5 seconds of cutscene?
