Bringing up an old thread...but went and saw it a few nights ago.

Spoiler discussion

And I was surprisingly wrong. Liam Neeson doesn't die and he doesn't bond with the young whelp with his dying breath. Instead he's like "oh noes I'm stuck outside teh barrier and don't do anything for the whole goddamn movie."

I have to say the bit where all the veterans are standing randomly on the Missouri in that moment is probably the cheesiest thing I've seen in a movie

Leave your brain at the door and don't expect too much. This is from the same bunch who brought you Transformers so it's that sort of level.

Oh I thought RoTF was the worst, followed by DotM. It's definitely not as bad as RoTF, maybe not even as bad as DotM, but nowhere near as good as the first one. I can't say I loved it, but it was ok.

Revenge of the Fallen was only bad because it was blatantly unfinished (a mere two years to make including the writers strike? no wonder). The basic setup and story progression was fine where as DotM was just genuinely bad for no good reason (at least RotF had hints of what made the original so good, DotM seemed to abandon everything). I honestly feel RotF is oscar material compared to DotM.

I don't think i'm in any rush to see Battleship unless the fight scenes are truly epic (for reference I thought DotM's fights were very average where as the first two had consistently epic fight scenes).

Ah well the battle scenes weren't even that epic, certainly nothing we haven't seen before. If you want awesome naval battles go watch Master and Commander :)

Not as terrible as I expected. Quite entertaining actually. A lot of things were stupid or over-the-top (usually both), but it set out to be mindless entertainment and achieved that aim.
