The company have also released a bunch of amazing screenshots and a spectacular YouTube video of the new island. Check it out and report back, soldier.

I reckon my PC should be able to run it all on at least Medium but hopefully on High.
Also the new island looks good but not that big but I assume it is one of two or three islands that will be in the game.

Actually glad about the small size now, as before the draw distance would suck up all resources but now they can resort to LoS blocking terrain and other tricks to give the illusion of prettyness.

Also gives snipers a lot more camouflage >:).

Wonder how big the mainland will be though, and lots of people are hearing about this release after how polished ArmA 2 was (compared to the original at least, sometimes missions would just suddenly be ambiguous in goal and not let you finish).

Here's to hoping we have the BF3 crowd moving over to ArmA3!

The main island is Limnos, which according to the ArmA III website is 300 square kilometers. Doubt the whole thing will be in game, but it will definately be a lot bigger than Stratis. I reckon that Stratis will be to Limnos what Utes was to Chernarus.

That looks gorgeous, can't wait to get my hamds on it.

Also, if you have a spare 25 dollars lying around, grab the P&C release of Carrier Command (from Bohemia Interact). Very different style of game for them but no less excellent.

I have no experience with the ARMA series; but as BF veteran I would I fair?

ArmA isn't anywhere near as hard as its players would make out. Even ACE (a fairly comprehensive add-on) doesn't take it too far out of the realm for regular shooter fans.

Try it, you'll definitely enjoy the singleplayer campaigns on any of the ArmA 2 releases and the multi puts out what you put in.

The menu system is very clunky but yeah, getting into it and using basic tactics is pretty easy.
