The following is Yurtles personal musings and in no way a spoiler from either the show or the books*

Tyrion for king imo. It makes me sad because now that I like him so much he's probabaly only got another 2 episodes left before someone guts him like a fish :(

*Disclaimer ivalidated by instances of prophetic forshadowing or the sheer dumb luck of actually being right.

Good, it sounded rather specific and I'd be double pissed that my favourite character got written out and the fact spoiled all in one :P

Really surprised at how violent/graphic this is for a TV show.

That scene in ep3 with the prisoners was probably one of the more violent things I've ever seen, seemed quite silly for him to take on all those guys at once too. If he was trying to protect Stark's daughter and the **** kid you'd think getting himself killed wouldn't be a part of his plan in helping them.

I think that was a situation where diplomacy wasn't going to work and probably wasn't in his character anyway. I think the idea would've been to buy the kids some time to escape.

It's not a spoiler darn it! I'm just speculating. I'll even edit my original post if it'll make people happier..

Won't you be popular when I mean if Tyrion gets in 2-3 episodes? :-)

I so expected the bald guy to be the snitch. The old guy seemed just so innocent lol.

you must have missed the bit where the old guys is totally faking it, he doesn't limp or stoop because he's old, he does it to appear innocuous.
You see this the first time you see him with the ****.

TV (season 1) spoilers

I found that scene interesting, though i dont know what purpose it served Other than to show that he's trying to fly under the radar (but for what reason in season one, i have no idea... it wasnt even in the book that i can remember)

well I think that's all it was trying to accomplish. I noticed this at the time, but didn't remember it when watching the last episode. so nice pickup TRB.

to me it's showing that all 3 people on that council play their games. old guy hides between being old, but is actually a snitch. eunich hides behind being nice, and little finger does whatever he can to gain the trust of everyone so he can take advantage of it. 3 slightly different ways of maintaining the type of power they are given.

I actually quite like the eunich and little finger. they are really interesting characters.

The story between littlefinger and Varys are one of the best parts of the books. Unfortunately for TV they have to be a little more obvious to get the message across, as the show can't reveal their thoughts as easily. It is still very well done though and I can't wait for some more of the story to play out for these two characters.

However,
Series 2 spoilers

Don't like how they made littlefinger confront the queen with his knowledge of the incest though. Is really a stupid thing that his character should never have done (be that obvious).

I agree spawneh, littlefinger NEVER shows his hand, even when he succeeds at something he very rarely makes it known.

I don't like little finger, for the simple reason that he directly lies.
Where as Varys tends to be a lot more subtle or indirect, he tends to deceive more by omission or misdirection.
