Seriously? viewtopic.php?p=2585115#p2585115

Please just shut up already with your constant tears.

Here to talk about Crysis, not Origin, even though you've turned the entire thread into that. Hasn't even been announced yet what platforms it's going to be available so take your derailment elsewhere. Sick of reading it.

Was not a fan of Crysis 2. Never played the first one (never had a PC that would run it at the time). Not going to bother risking another $80 on this franchise.

You should really play the first 1 and Warhead.

+1. I played Crysis 1's SP about 10+ times I think. Probably played Warhead about 4 or 5 times. Also played a **** ton of Crysis Wars back in the day, in its prime it was bloody brilliant. Also, mods.

That's why it pained me to see what Crysis 2 did with the franchise, knowing the potential it has/had.

To be fair, beta or no, Steam still sucked when it launched and faced all the same complaints from people (myself included) that Origin is facing now. It's a completely different kind of platform to what it was in 2004.

That said, Origin definitely sucks in its current state and is actively a liability to the experience of any game that is released exclusive to it. Certainly Crysis 3 will never see a dollar from me if there's no Steam version - that isn't because Steam is great, it's just because Origin sucks and I don't want to be juggling DRM clients the same way we used to have to juggle IM clients in the bad old days.

In a perfect world, I'd like to see the a software delivery platform that's centralised, accessible, stable, and overseen by a neutral third party with no stake in monopolising the market. Imagine that! Through torrents we already have the infrastructure for it, we'd just need publishers working together towards achieving something like that.

yeah steam was buggy for some, i never had an issue with it myself and ive had it from release, its alot better system then origin, yes is been around longer, however they had no one to copy ideas from, origin should of been able to make a far better product or at least the same ideas as steam.

Steam etc are amazing, for you old skool gamers, having to update hl1, TFC CS, quake, etc every few weeks with a manual patch, was a nightmare, specialy when you formatted, trying to get all the patches. Origin is OK, it just sucks the same games arnt on steam as its easier having everything in ONE place and one FRIEND list. they must be sacrificing some sort of % of game sales not having it on steam.....

Origin IS terrible.. unless you mean as a peice of spyware.. in which case its great.. people KNOW its spyware and are _STILL_ stupid enought to install it all because they changed a document that goes with it.

Spyware is in so much software you install these days... hell if you use google or facebook you've got spyware... cry less homo

Crysis and warhead were played several times by me, and multi(inc beta) spent way too many hours playing them... Great games... Cry2 was ok, but could only play through the single player once and the multi died down pretty quickly.
But excited to hear about c3 going back to its sandbox feel... moist

According to the writer of Crysis 2 video games _need_ Hollywood writers to create better stories for games. As soon as I read this crock of **** during the pre-release hype up for the sequel I wasn't interested.

If you want to pull a 'what the...?' face just go to Crysis 2 plot (?) on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crysis_2#Plot

The story for Crysis 2 makes no sense and contradicts a lot of elements in the first game. For example since when was the Nano suit a piece of alien technology?? The Koreans were building their own suits!

I must've hit a nerve in the Crytek employee. Did I out their DRM plans for Crysis 3 too soon?

EDIT: I only barely played the Crysis 2 MP on 360 and it felt like COD with Nanosuits. Not looking good for Crysis 3 to be honest.
DRM is like kids. The less you have, the better.

Agreed, stating origin as spyware is insinuating that they are gathering information to be used against the end user which is pretty ridiculous dude. They may gather information about your system and games you play for market research but I believe you can opt out of this. In other words saying something is nothing (in this case) unless you can back it up with evidence.

Comparing origin with facebook is not valid either IMO, the amount of scumbags that use facebook as a platform to bait and hook people with phishing software is a problem these days. You don't get any of this through Origin.

Personally I don't mind Origin, can't complain if I can get my full bandwidth downloading via Origin which is a far cry from steams download speeds. You get the odd disconnection from EA which is slightly annoying. A lot of the time though its hard to pinpoint origin as the main problem.

I agree with this, i was pretty pumped for Crysis 2, but it did let me down, maybe my expectations were to high, but imo it was a step in the wrong direction.

There are still a few of us who plays Crysis Wars now.

Newsflash: lots of people to varying degrees hate DRM generally, services like Origin and Steam more particularly, and Origin especially.

Therefore, so long as this **** is in games/hardware, people will continue to complain about it. I suggest you all learn to deal with this fact.

If i remember right, in Crysis 2 beginning the alien just started to invade NY, and Prophet died from infection. But why the hell Prophet is alive again in a "much later NY" instead of before the invasion?

The NS1 was man made, based off discovered alien tech. The NS2 was further advanced, obviously, and incorporated more alien tech which introduced the collecting of alien tissue samples to "power up" your suit. Of course the Koreans were building their own suit, the whole story behind C1 was that the Koreans were trying to take control of the island to have the tech for themselves.

What else of the plot doesn't make sense? It's a difficult storyline to follow which is why many people are pulling the wtf face, that doesn't mean it's incorrect or incomplete :P
