Not sure how. First time I played cod 4 I wiped out some 24 people in a row.
First time I played T:A I struggled to get 8 kills throughout the entire match.
AFAIK the main appeal to COD was how easy it was for anybody to rack up some kills. I know a number of non-gamer girls who
love COD and swear by it, but they wouldn't step foot near something like T:A.
Most of the hitscan weapons have been nerfed a
lot and there is no speed cap, how long ago did you try it?
It's definitely not as elite as the previous tribes games were I'll give you that, but look how fast the populations were reduced to the same old players every night and eventually empty games. The new model of T:A seems to be the perfect balance between promoting skill and attracting a large population. In the end it doesn't matter how pro a game is if there is nobody to play it against what's the use?
When they allow private custom servers (which is soon) I'm sure there will be some around that are modified to be more like the originals.

its model is very much like LoL... once you make that initial investment, everyone is on a reasonably level playing field... until that point it is pretty lopsided. Unfortunately this is compounded by the perma xp bonus for payment.
I think you're missing the point of Play for Free. If you want to jump right in and play competitive, perfectly balanced clan matches with every single option available, you
should be paying for the game. The play for free model is to allow people who aren't so dedicated to be able to try it and play it casually without having to decide between this and another FPS game for purchase. Increasing the overall population and sucking in a number of them to become competitive and dedicated to the game.
