I have gone to AMD Graphics for the first time ever, even when I had an AMD machine in the past its always been an NVidia card. I still consider NVidia better but I can't help but be impressed by my now 3 monitor setup on the one card and how far the driver / control panel has come. It used to be horrible from my brief experiences with it on other peoples computers. This is somewhere NVidia needs to step up, they should allow more than 2 monitors on one card. They both aren't without their flaws.

I don't know about other cards (such as custom ones) but the GTX680 allows for 3 monitors on one card.

Ah right, well I didn't consider it because this card only set me back $150 :P 3rd monitor, gpu and dp cable came in under $450 lol. I don't need the latest gear, happy to turn a latest game down a tad if necessary. Not that I have needed to, so far this card runs most things on high. No point over capitalising on what is an old computer now.

I did read that some specific older NVidia cards could do it also. The reason I can only run one card is that my PSU is a 430w Antec and my motherboard only has one PCIe.

My 580 was sitting around 50-60% load with Skyrim on Ultra. Increased this to 80-90% with some ini tweaks. Just came to gloat.

Soooo, the new drivers cause a performance drop for you?

It's good to see people are finally working hard to solve the vsync issue legitimately. I've always hated having to choose between input lag and screen tearing - hopefully in the future we won't have to!

Actually the 680 supports up to 4 monitors on the single card ;D

The drivers has also changed some other things as well.

As I have a 3 monitor setup, the new drivers have made is so the taskbar will only show in the middle monitor so it wont stretch over all three.

Also has changed it so when you drag a window to the top, it wont maximise over all three monitors, only the monitor its in.

They are the only other tweaks I have found with the surround setup.

But overall, it has helped out a lot!
