and of course can't forget dopefish, only ever saw him in q2/q3/dx3 though. Oblivion was full of eggs and references too.

I liked the easter eggs in Duke Nukem 3d, i can remember theres a indiana jones one and a doom one "thats one doomed space marine" heheh :) good times

I have a recollection of reading about initials and words being hidden in the 2D map of some RPGs - that would never be seen by gamers unless they mapped out their travels... and I can tell you that some of us did exactly that - pen and graph paper to record our travels...

There was a basic, but fully functional flight sim in Excel 97... so a quick search lead me to this list of other MS product easter eggs - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_egg ... t_products

Let us not forget them recreating entire starting sections from Wolf3D, Doom and Quake in Rage as well.
