Prime World to Give Discounts if Players Play as Their Actual Gender

I can already hear the gender freaks crying out over this.

Honestly as a "Gender Freak", which I guess is lingo for someone who gives a **** about peoples choices, I don't mind as long as it's not forced. Forcing players, people who identify as female, to reveal themselves as women just to play a game is dangerous because, sadly, it invites hostility. And heaven forbid you're gender queer or transitioning Male-to-Female or Female-to-Male.
So while Prime World is more than welcome to try give female players an incentive to be who they are, I think most people would rather the safety of anonymity for now.

Interestingly, for those desperate to prove how manly they are by how much then ensure they treat their own characters as eye candy, heaps of men play women and most of them do it because the default male in games can be very hard to relate too.

So it's ok! Play a girl or a guy, you don't even have to make up some **** to keep your **** mancard!

I guess it's all based off the game. Take Final Fantasy X-2 for Example, you play as 3 women who kick arse.

Also I prefer female classes simply because in some games, the armour and weapon loadouts are graphically better looking. (and I don't refer to cleavage)

I prefer female characters in most games (specifically MMO's) for a variety of reasons, one minor reason is that they generally have bloody good arses. Primarily, I prefer the smaller character models. A smaller, less conspicuous model helps to avoid notice and make targeting harder. On my side, the smaller model takes up less of the screen and usually has a great arse.

I tend play a female character if I want to role-play a bit. I find if I'm playing a male character I tend to play "me in a fantasy/sci-fi/whatever world" as opposed to "X in a fantasy/sci-fi/whatever world"

I don't know what post you guys were reading, it says nothing about forcing you to play your own gender, it merely states that you get rewarded if you do, you can still create characters that have the opposite gender to you (which I would probably end up doing).

I play female characters because I just find the males constricting, more often than not.

Take Mass Effect. There's a lot more ambiguity in the female role, you can make her into whatever you want. But the male voice actor seems typecast into the stereotypical soldier jarhead.

The only male I really enjoyed playing in an RPG was Geralt in The Witcher games, because he had more depth than "Hot damn let's go blow **** up".

Why do "people" get upset when a guy says he would rather look at a picture (or pixels in this case) of a womans arse than that of a mans ??

I personally think that the main reason "people" (read immature males) object to men playing female toons is because they themselves are sexually interested in the female characters in games. And if guys are allowed to play female toons then there is no way they can put their sexual advances on the female character without first asking.. Which they arent able to do IRL and thus have so much trouble doing in a game.

Not once.. EVER.. have I heard a FEMALE gamer object to males playing a female character.. It makes most of them happy!! Why ? Because it give them a barrier to immature retards

My mates wife plays MALE toons because she is completely sick of the kind of "people" who object to men playing female toons. And after seeing how many "people" cannot accept "no" as a response I cannot blame her.

Personally, sometimes i prefer the female aesthetic when I'm playing a game, often the gear looks better on a female toon that on a stupidly muscled male toon and in my experience the females always have more customization options, I draw the line however at games where the females don't have real gear and just look like leather-bound ****.

Anyone who can get any kind of sexual gratification from watching their female toons behind is a little cracked if you ask me, a lot of people play females just because it's something different, I don't particularly want to fight demons IRL and I sure as hell don't want to be a child murdering reiver but that won't stop me playing Fallout like that just for a change, need me that chaotic neutral.

It has character creation similar to Diablo 2, there are a bunch of classes and each of those are either female or male, you can choose whichever character you want to play, however if you are male you get bonuses for playing a male character, For example if you wish to play on the proposed good side and you want to play the inventor, he is male, however if you want to play a similar character for the opposite side you have to choose the artiste which is a female character.

If anything everyone should be complaining about only getting the bonus/ discount when playing their own gender.

This seems like a bizarre move in a strategy game, what on earth is the point of incentivise playing your own gender in a strategy game? That being said, I think it's a stupid move for any genre of game.
