Furthermore to expect Origin to be at the same standard of current steam at Day 0 is insane, that's not how the business works. Developing such an extensive platform takes a long time and a lot of money. From a business standpoint incremental improvements are far more economical. Origin is **** now, yes, but it wont be forever.
Wrong, on every point.
Origin is just EADM re-named.
Its been around basically as long as steam.
Its always been a pointless, featureless, waste of time, it is not, has not and never will be "an extensive platform", it is, was and will be a **** shop front which serves no point for the end user.
aka: its **** now, it was **** before and it will always be ****.
And to be around the 'level' of the competition is EXACTLY how business works.
If it wasn't then new brands wouldn't ever get anywhere since there would already be a product that fills that segment and does a better job.
see my above example about cars.
Great Wall tried to bring their **** Chinese cars here and when they completely failed the safety tests we told them to get lost.
They didn't get to 'compete' until they managed the bare minimum ANCAP rating like all the other cars on the market here.
If origin was a car it'd have failed the ANCAP rating still because it doesn't meet minimum standard.
In this case, its NOT a useful piece of software, its just a featureless piece of bloat.

Just for proof EADM has been around for 7+ years and has changed its name nearly as many times.
