B: EA shutdown the online services for these games. They have not stopped single player access, if you think multiplayer services should run for perpetuity that's another discussion entirely.
C: It does not take a very large leap of logic (and in this case, faith), to assume that EA would patch the game prior to shutting down online services for SC5, allowing single player access to continue.
Edit: Just saw akira675's post; yeah that's woeful business practice. No defending that.
