Vote Kick System Now Running On the Servers.

Unread postby -Slayer- » 19 Mar 12, 4:18 pm

Just letting you all know that games.on.net is running a kick vote system on the servers for the players.

  • To call a vote: !votekick name of player
  • To agree: !yes
  • To disagree: !no
  • To cancel the vote: !cancelvote

Some tweaking will be done as we go along, please use it wisely.

So what are the success failure parameters? Don't want to see a legit player getting kicked by the other team because they are doing too well.

It's set on default settings at this stage, you need 3 votes called to even start a vote kick, vote percentage seems fine at default, also players can vote !no if they disagree with a vote called, time will tell and we may tweak the settings as we go along.

It is only on trial at this stage and I may very well remove it again if i think it isn't working, just trying to mix it up for players.

Same as the servers have player stats option when typed it in and viewed.

In the future other stuff may get added and removed to see how it works or fails.

It's been my experience with kick votes that most people will just quit before they'll consider taking the time to organise themselves into voting off disruptive players.
I don't think exploitation will be much of a problem, it'd be like herding cats.

Just like the old BF2 days, that vote system worked well........ not :dizzy:

Will be interesting to see how it goes, might be just a waste of time but it's there if used correctly.

Although I like the idea, I find in practice they never quite work out .. figners crossed though as they are a good way to get rid of problem players.

I see so many cheaters around (mainly non node servers) that this is a godsend when there are no admins about.

I am also wondering why punkbuster is so....****??

sigh..

New private cheats are released faster than punkbuster (and pretty much every other anti-cheat) can keep up with them. They make heaps of cash from this.

Will never replace a good admin.

Active admins are always better than punk-buster, but with the lack of admin tools for BF3 no thanks to Dice it's a lot harder than the BF2 days, but we still catch quite a lot on games.on.net.

One reason there seems so many around is the cheats are so cheap lately compared to BF2 days.

I'm also talking about REAL cheaters, not the ones that a player will will get killed twice by the same player then start calling out cheater cheater, really those players need a slap to get them back to reality of online games. :P

It's not just for that if a player wants too lets use an example of, play like a TARD in the servers and players don't like it then the players will vote, if it goes through and a server can get that many votes then I guess the server has spoken, no real different to the vote system in BF2, just giving the players more options to make there time in the server more enjoyable. ;)
