Someone actually posted up a thing on "The Invisible Children" on my facebook, the company taking donations for the "cause". They apparently have ties to a whole bunch of shady people and corporations around the Uganda area.

the problem in removing him is that he is curently filling a power vacuum (and yes he is an evil ****) so you remove him, and you will get some other thug running the show.

I haven't read much about the whole thing or bothered checking facts in that reddit link, but the whole kony 2012 thing sounds rather dubious. But with anything check where you're money is going before you make a decision based on emotion rather than fact..

So how exactly is the average person meant to 'help'? And before you say send money, there are already a million causes actively trawling for everyone's money already...

Which is the problem with this Kony group. They're trawling for donations but not actually doing anything with them.

So I dunno if I'm agreeing or disagreeing with you. I don't think people should try to do anything about that particular situation at all. It's too volatile to work out exactly what should be done from thousands of miles away, and whatever help western civilians can give, it won't address the real problems on the ground.

Doing something about it is great. But this whole viral facebook social media thing isn't actually doing anything. Just making people feel bad.

Also this KONY2012 stuff is way not on the level, as Disco's link shows quite well.

Really what I'd like to see is more people helping because it's the right thing to do, then feeling guilty one morning in-front of a computer and liking a facebook group.
