Doom 4 is Coming - id Responds to Screenshot Leak

The Doom series might have been lying low these last few years, but the grandaddy of the FPS genre is anything but retired. Last week, a slew of alleged [app=4304]Doom 4[/app] screenshots and concept images made their way online, due to a careless environment artist. Now, id Software have come forward and confirmed that the images are authentic, but that the final product will blow them out of the water.

Visually though id should be able to scale it well. If they also pull the old school approach of gameplay, consoles and PC wont lose because it will be dumb loud arcade fun.

The screenshots look amazing theres no doubt about it, but so did rage until you played it.....hope this is pc exclusive or i probably will download the "demo" first before wasting money this time.

Rage looked good to me. I didn't get it until a couple of weeks after release though so I got all the post release patches before I played it.

Doom was great back in the day, but I dunno about these modern iterations. It's devolved into a generic shooter with no clear thing.

To the best of my knowledge, the main reason why old school ID titles reign supreme is because of American McGee's influence during development. Since his termination in 1998 ID games just haven't been the same. Wiki American McGee; quite interesting actually.

Yeah like Rage. It worked well, apart from the fact it had that strange blurry texture thing where you could do 180 degree spins on the spot and watch the textures slowly load, oh and the fact it all looked rather low-res and blurry anyways.

Sure there is, for people like me who don't play the other generic shooters. Besides, ID always make fun games
