Was having a smoke on the way from tafe to the station, some animal lover lady offers to tell me about some lost dogs home. I hear her out cause she's kinda hot. Goes on about this dramatic story about a dog that got it's tail cut off - it's pretty sad. Asks if I have pets.. me - "oh yeah I have a cat and she's insane! She kills rats and possums in my house!"
Then I realised that probably wasn't the best thing to say.. Awkward laugh then got the **** out of there.

Done something today I haven't done in AAAAGES.

Whilst my SWTOR guild/s know I'm moving to an AU server when they're there, I've offered to host a phpBB forum for those who remain.

So, domain name established, installed phpBB and started playing with themes ..

.. and I had forgotten just how much I love web development. Seriously. Been a sysadmin for so long, and dealing with higher level web issues, I had utterly forgotten the sheer joy in playing and experimenting with ideas and design. The site I'm building is nothing much, but, damn it's fun.

In early WoW days, it was more.

Remember, this isn't just a client thing or a server thing. It could involve databases, testing, load balances, far more than the usual process.

eve updates were worse....

the server could be down for 2 or 3 days at least.. and that's not including server crashes after the new update because of that god horrible microsoft sql server they use
