The best bit about Sauerbraten is the comprehensive and incredibly easy to play with built-in map editor. I could play around with just that by itself for hours. Well worth it. :)

absolutely, another factor that is awesome. The guy who got me into Sauerbaten is the same one I used to make levels with for Duke 3D :)

Wolfenstien 3D was my first ever FPS, loved it. One of the things i enjoyed the most in those games was going to every wall pressing spacebar trying to find a secret hehe. Recently revisited all the Dooms and Quakes to play co-op (and install a bunch of mods), and they did not disappoint!
Most recently just finished Doom II RPG on iphone, i got SO many hours out of it, and it was super awesome...but i do love RPGS :)

Cyclobs, sif you would suggest Open Arena (bit meh) compared to Sauerbraten, thats where the awesome gaming is at folks! :D Had a few rounds of that again the other week (after not playing for ages) against Cyclobs and some others of his clan and realised how horribly I was outclassed....though I did beat Cyclobs one round :D

hehe i wasn't really playing seriously or very good that game :D if i was i would of been top 3 under daz :D

Wish there was a Rocket Arena version though :(

Sigh, agreed. It's just not the same is it?

Well it's not EXACTLY rocket areana... but CA is pretty similiar. You have no self/team damage at all and its just 1 arena per level (2 teams). Thats the main difference I guess. Duel is alot of fun too, but the difficulty curve is very steep.

Always took UT over Q3Arena however lanning with either is the f'ing bomb!

Same here bro. Played Q2 before Q1, prefer Q2. Preferred UT over Q3, probably because I was better at UT (could consistently make it into the top 3 players each round, was the 1st FPS I was actually good at)

Hell yes! Doom 2 with Brutal Doom and one of the stalwart megawads like Requiem is just absolute heaven.
