I'm going to buy about five games only from that list. :P

I guess it comes down to what type of games you prefer. I'll probably still spend close to a $1000 on games this year, though. And then there's hardware. It's not the cheapest hobby.

I don't own a PS3, Wii, 3Ds, or Vita... of the remaining games a lot of them (like the Withcher 2 and Diablo 3) I'm simply not interested enough in them to pick them up for anything but bargain prices.

I think this whole "must have x y and z games" mentality is a big part of the reason why we see so many carbon copied games released every year and lapped up by an increasingly disappointed gaming public.

If you pay RRP... who does that these days, I haven't paid more than $60 for any new release title on any platform in a couple years.

The article does state that cheaper prices can easily be found.

I realise that many of these won't be of interest to everyone, but then again there are people who buy MORE games than me. So I went with the middle ground, choosing only those that looked interesting and give me that 'really want to play when they come out' feeling.

I guess I am in the minority as the only game that interested me was diablo 3 on the lists :)

This, this, a million times this.
Only things on the list I'm considering are Ninja Gaiden and ME3, but ME3 is on Origin, so no.
Other than that, already have KoA:Reckoning, was great.

Same for me with a few exceptions, I did get the Shogun 2 Collectors edition which is probably the most I've spent on a game ever.

I have to say I'm only really interested in the 'different' looking games out there, like that I Am Alive and The Witness. And AC3, but that's because I want to see the end of the story, damnit. I'll probably wait for a half-price sale on Steam, though. I'm not in a hurry any more, since I got kinda jaded with gaming and the industry.
Edit: Oh, and Monaco. Looking forward to checking that out.
