What to look forward to in 2012:

The Greater Western Sydney Giants
Hopefully the Giants can have a better first season than the Suns did in 2011, and with Sheedy at the helm, who knows what could happen.

First Game: vs. Western Bulldogs and Collingwood, NAB Cup, Round 1, Sat 18th February
First Home & Away Game - vs. Sydney, Round 1, Sat 24th March
First New South Wales Derby - See above

Greater Western Sydney Club Song

The Sun's second season
Having only won 3 games in 2011, finishing bottom of the table and clutching the wooden spoon, the Suns have a lot to prove in 2012. Will they be able to fight back and win consecutive matches or will they once again become nothing more than overpaid cones.

Get your tips in for round 1 on Footytips.com.au in the GON league. Although if you miss tomorrow nights tip, Sydney is the away team so you should still get a point, even though the margin would be out by like 100 points. Should be an interesting game to watch, and my first on TV this year. Can't wait.

I put my tips in last week, I assume we're using the same footytips.com.au group from last year so it should just exist this year still?

152? far out that's alright...

My tips for the finals:
Hawks to beat Collingwood
Crows to beat Sydney
Geelong to beat Hawks in the prelim
Crows to beat Collingwood or West Coast in the other prelim

Crows v Geelong final, too close to call

Yeah I think I heard them say NM has 14 players that have never played a final.. And to do that in front of a WA crowd can't be easy.

Presuming Eagles go on to win, can you imagine if Freo and West Coast made it to the final, and had to play at the MCG.. Outrage lol (I havent looked at all at the "path" through the finals for them, so may not even be possible.. But still lol)

it is possible, Freo or the Crows go to play the Hawks, West Coast or Collingwood go to play Sydney.

could happen, but the Crows will beat Freo :P

That would be interesting then, it's not often we get both WA teams this far into finals.

And you never know when it comes down to one game, the result on the day, anything can happen ;)

Lol, if it's not a WA team up there if be happy for it to be the Crows anyway. Can't let those eastern states have it all their way

Sydney Swans 14.7 (91) d. Hawthorn Hawks 11.15 (81). Ryan O'Keefe for the Swans gets the Norm Smith. 99,683 people in attendance.

Was a pretty good game. Thought the Swans were going to run away with it after the 2nd quarter, but Hawks came back strong in the 3rd. Scores level at 8mins to go in the final term, but the Swans got it home. I think the Hawks suffered from poor accuracy in the end, the same thing that nearly got them trumped by Adelaide in the prelim.
