I little OT, but it really is a shame to see that almost the entire gaming industry has stalled when it comes to improvements in graphics in the last few years. This doesn't look bad, by any stretch, but it also doesn't look much different to how it would have looked 3-4 years ago, which is a shame.
Certainly, graphics are not everything - gameplay must come first - but it's still nice to see things move ahead. Even in the ME3 trailers I watched yesterday the graphics are starting to look a little stale (facial features, etc). Bring on the next generation of consoles. I don't plan on getting one but at least that will kick developers into gear again - the current gen are hobbling development so much right now.
I am definitely a Trek fan and I also enjoyed the new reboot - I will definitely go see the next movie when it is released! - but I don't see much in this that makes me say "wow". I'm getting more picky as I get older on what games I play - I just don't have the time that I used to. This
is alpha footage, so I'll take it with a grain of salt, but so far it has yet to convince me I should part with my cash (and time) to play it.
