It's got Bathurst? SOLD!

.. one of the big pains for me with iRacing is that the only Australian track is Phillip Island.

awfully tempting for only $20... hmmmmmm

Shamefully, I just had a chance to pick this up :D

Damn it's got potential, I'll be closely following this over the next year that's for sure :icon14:

Bathurst and some of the other maps are clearly in development, but the sense of speed/feel is nuts. Visuals of the cars are some of the best I've ever seen :).

Been away from this game for quite some time i think the last build i played was 108 well downloaded 121 and wow vast amount of improvements took a spin in the Gumpert around Bathurst.

cars just handle so well it's like nothing i've played, i didn't push the limits on this video as i was still getting used to the car and track.

This fan trailer built from the alpha is just lovely :)

http://www.wmdportal.com/projectnews/new-video-trailer-kicks-off-busy-months-ahead/ wrote:WMD team member HDTanel has put together a stunning video trailer of Slighly Mad Studio’s Project CARS, showing off some of the epic racing action the title already provides.

All cars and tracks seen in the video trailer below are included in the current development builds that are instantly available to all our WMD team members.

The following months will have plenty of exciting progress in store as several key features are due to be added to Project CARS. Starting with build 129 that was released on Friday, the title is currently receiving a major overhaul to the Force Feedback & input system.

Progress doesn’t stop there as plenty of other high-profile features are due to be added in the first months of 2012, including:

Night Lighting
Dynamic Time/Weather System
Tire Deformations
Racing School
Multiplayer
Pit-to-Car Radio
and much more…

Aside from these exciting new features, our busy development team is of course working on plenty of new content as well. Next week’s build of Project CARS will give members the first chance to sample the Ariel Atom V8 as well as the Northampton circuit with much more content still in the pipeline!

Want to make sure you don’t miss any of these exciting new features? Then join WMD and become a member , get racing with the current development build and be among the first to receive the new features as they´re rolled out.

Stunning video!
I have got a couple months left on iRacing but I am not going to renew. I recently installed it again and set it all up as I'm getting the racing bug again but it stresses me out too much lol. I have thrashed it out and this seems to be something fresh for me.

Just wanted to ask, what is the point of signing up now? I saw a 2012 feature there is multiplayer (which is what I'm most interested in) so at the moment if I got it what do I have access too?

In the meantime I'll do some research mysellf :P

Fair question :), took me a little while to work it out before I decided to jump in on the purchase. Has been worth it :icon14:

So, the point? You get to join in right now, play new builds at a very frequent rate (more info here).

If your the kinda guy who has lots of feedback, voice the hell out of it :). You have the ability to shape the game as you see it and if possible you can help contribute on a development level if that's your thing.

Most people are probably fine with the Team Member or Junior tool packs, if you strictly just want the game and at a reduced cost right now. Then that's for you :).

I'm hopeful that we see this launch as a full retail game. One day in the future I'll be happy knowing I got in early and not only saved some money, but actually helped get the game released by funding it in some way during development :).

The feature set is constantly changing and once you have access to the forum you will start to see that this game is a bit of a "wish list" in the racing sim game world.

People make suggestions, devs/community agree. A few weeks or months later, it's done

I guess over the last few years when I play other racing games I'm never shocked when I see fans having a whine and saying "if only it had X or Y feature, it would be better" or "god damn, why wont it support my wheel". This game kicks that in the face and does it, then gets on with the job of continuing to expand further.

I really hope development on this never finishes, just continues in a similar way to how Live For Speed works.

Becoming somewhat interested now, rally has definitely got my attention.
iRacing angered me to the point of them never deserving a subscription from me again. I will keep an eye out.

Rally with some night racing, hell yeah. Absolute madness :). Even driving around Bathurst now in the brightest of day feels like a drive in a death cage.

I rarely manage to keep it on the track for a lap

Thanks for the response Cas very informative and draws a clearer picture now heh. I have always loved LFS but yeah with 3 guys development is very slow. Hopefully this can be very similar but with frequent updates etc.

Will post when I get my copy :)

This Video convinced me to get it the day you posted it.

The game is getting much better with each release - they are still working on the handling though.. but its a lot better than when I first got it. I find that when you go to the newer builds, often you'll have a lot of fiddling around with controller settings...

The game is well worth the $30 odd that I paid to play it, much better value for money than iRacing. Lacking content for now, but wont be long before theres a lot more.. (they've been adding it quite quickly)
