Dead Island Finally Patched on PC - Fixes Aplenty

PC gamers who made an early start on [app=2829]Dead Island[/app] got a rude shock when they downloaded the colossal day one patch. You see the patch erased all save game data and still didn't fix all the game's unfortunate bugs. In light of the bugs that riddled the main game, TechLand put the upcoming 'Bloodbath Arena' DLC on the backburner to iron out all the kinks. The patch has finally hit Steam, but just what does the patch fix this time around?

It looks as if most of the issues I had heard the game had are fixed. I do not think I will buy this game anytime soon though if at all.

Well, looks like I've been playing with the patch .. which is nice ..

I've spotted no game breaking bugs, although I've been doing a solo run .. will see how it fairs once we hit co-op mode in the next few days.

I'd recommend the game, overall. There are a-plenty of annoying things but they're design points rather than actual bugs. Things like: having a game dynamic where you need to repair your gear is fine, but using stolen cash on workbenches with nobody to actually pay is stupid.

Oh, and the kick is the most powerful thing in the game, and takes no stamina ..

Oh, and there's no way to look behind you when driving, can't look, mirrors don't function ..

Yeah, I should stop .. there's a few dozen of annoyances .. but the core game itself is pretty good. Far more 'worthy' aspects than 'unworthy'.

edit: I just alt-tabbed back into the game, leaped over a table, and got stuck inside a cupboard.

Yup, hate it when I alt-tab into a cupboard and leap over a table back into the game and get stuck.

Last time they needed to call the firemen to get me out.

Edit: On topic, have they changed the whole thing where if you click to get out of a menu, you attack? Or is that still a thing?

Yeah that still happens .. as does picking up alcohol and you equip it as main weapon .. sigh

I had minimal problems with the game. Completed it twice with the other half co-op and still didn't max out to level 50. Finding all the hidden 'dev mods'/blueprints is fun :D
I think it's great to have a first person melee focused game for a change instead of Gun Shooter Inc the 3rd.

there was a mod to fix that. the problem is there are two different timings that determine whether you auto equip, or put it into inventory, and those two timings were extremely close to each other.

I'd give anything just to have a fix for despawning weapons if you move 20 meters away from them, as well as the despawning enemies that disappear along with your weapon still inside them...

I swear, playing as Logan I have easily had over 40 gold weapons despawn on me so far.

I guess it's the only thing holding him back from being so damn OP though. Especially when you combine with the mind blowing knife, 30% area of effect damage (which also blows up nearby zombie heads) and never losing any durability from thrown weapons.

I can handle it when you spawn a thug right at my feet, but please don't steal my best weapons :(

Doubt they fixed the major flaws with this game which made me want to throw it out a window into traffic.

The spawning is ridiculous :x
