Well that was disappointing. I had a hunch they'd only released an updated iPhone 4.. but after all this time I was hoping for something ground breaking, or at least interesting

Thing is... for all intents and purposes, it *is* an iPhone 5.

Faster CPU, double the DRAM, 1080p instead of 720p on the front camera, new OS.

The only reason I can think of for not incrementing the model number is so they can keep selling the previous model without it appearing to be "last gen".

Upgrading from my 3GS will be great. Really wanted that dual-core A5, so that will rock. Everything else is a bonus!

And Siri will be really interesting to use.

I think people are disappointed because the chassis hasn't changed.

the performance and camera upgrade things are nice, but not really enough for people to upgrade from an iphone 4. the real deciding factor is Siri. if that is as good as the marketing ads suggest, it would be enough to upgrade straight away for some users. for people on iphones earlier than 4 will probably see a nice upgrade.

if you take out Siri, I don't believe there's much difference between current generation android phones.

Thats easy by pulling out a device thats better ie: SGS II, SE ARC S, HTC Incredible, HTC Sensation etc etc

Got one this morning!

Silky smooth, although iOS 5 seems mega efficient anyway. Loving the screen (remembering I'm coming from a 3GS). And the camera is very, very good!

It's just... Siri.

The problem is that she only looks up locations and businesses in the US at the moment. If you are outside the US, you can only use her for reminders, texting, checking things from Wolfram Alpha, and asking stupid stuff. Yes, it's only in beta, but it's a shame that we don't get full functionality from the get go.

But apart from that, its a darn good phone.

Interesting to see that it's quite snappy even though the tech is a little behind market standard (i.e. samsung/htc).
