Upcoming Releases

Unread postby Mekon » 27 Sep 11, 1:33 pm

I'm having trouble keeping track of what I'm waiting for and when it's due out, so... list.

ICO/Shadow of the Colossus HD remaster - SEP 29
God of War Collection: Volume 2 - SEP 29
Child of Eden - SEP 29

Dark Souls - OCT 6
RAGE - OCT 6

Batman: Arkham City - OCT 19
Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One - OCT 20

Battlefield 3 - OCT 27
The House of the Dead: Overkill - OCT 27

Lord of the Rings: War in the North - NOV 2
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - NOV 3
Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest - NOV 3

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - NOV 8
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection - NOV 8 (?)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - NOV 11

Saints Row the Third - NOV 15
Assassin's Creed: Revelations - NOV 15
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 - NOV 16
Need for Speed The Run - NOV 17

Note the forum this is posted in, ie. PS3 titles (before people start pointing out PC/X360 titles that might be missing). Some titles are only included for completeness, despite the fact they should be purchases/played on PC, IMO. :)

edit: and of course there would be no need for this if the Release Schedule was maintained! :P

Hmmm, there's not much on that list that I actually look forward to. Batman and Uncharted are primarily singleplayer games and while I enjoyed watching my bro play through the previous outings, we no longer live together so I'm not going to get that option.

Ratchet and Clank has never been a series I've been able to get into but I'll probably pick up All 4 One in the bargain bins.

That sux hey, I remember reading your posts saying you played with your bro lots.

My bro lives in another state (I moved years ago)... I WISH I could talk him into buying a 360 (my main online console).. he's such a lazy bugger tho and he's not very tech savvy so I think it would all be a bit much for him... this despite the fact I know he'd love it and he has himself heaps of free time (way more than I do).

Anyway I'm looking forward to:

RAGE (depending on review)
BATMAN
DRAKES
BF3
MW3

Bit unsure about BF and MW tho... part of me is over MW and wants BF... BUT... I see BF as being a game that needs more time to sit down each session and get into, whereas MW is something I could pick up for an hour here and there online and play, then put back down. I really feel like with BF I'd need at least a 2 hour session to make it worthwhile turning on.

Just those five games is probably around $350 and don't know if I can be bothered spending that much on games over a six week period. Plus I still gotta finish New Vegas, start Mass Effect 2 and do GTA & its episodes (partly re-do).

I saw a preview of Rage the other day and it looked like incredible fun. If it gets good reviews and is a large game (preferably with some replay value) that may be my fave of the bunch!!! Can't see myself getting into Rage online!

Oh plus I got Gears now - woohoo :)

That's a shame your bro lives that far away and he doesn't want to get a 360.

My bro only moved to a neighbouring suburb... he actually came over last night for some Resistance 3 co-op but we both work and study these days so lining up our schedules for local co-op doesn't work most of the time.

As with your thoughts on the online gaming, that's an option for my bro and myself to consider but we still prefer couch co-op when it's available. I don't like the lack of physical presence when I'm socialising with people (I don't use facebook anymore for that reason). Plus, if a game has got local co-op, we prefer to spend out money getting one copy so that we can get a bigger variety of games to play. There's still a few online c-op games which we both have (Uncharted 2, Ghostbusters, HAWX, Dead Nation, LBP2). One day we'll have to get around to playing them - lol. There's always some other co-op game we prefer to play that we only have one copy of.

From everyone that I have spoken to today say Rage is actually very good, better then expected. Brother just brought the limited edition of it at Game, the boss at Game said that he just can't play Fallout, didn't like it, but Rage is great.

I am still thinking about it.

To go back on topic, the only ones I am waiting for are Saints Row the Third and Assassin's Creed: Revelations next month.

Well we all know why it bombed with me... you have to finish singleplayer missions to unlock the co-op. We all know co-op players don't like playing singleplayer if they can help it.

But yeah, that's one less game I'll be playing/buying. Still got Resistance 3 to go through with my bro.

EDIT: Read online that the co-op missions don't require one to finish the equivalent singleplayer mission... the co-op campaign is it's own entity. Might consider picking this up when it's in a bargain bin as each co-op mission is only 15-20min long resulting in about 2hrs of gameplay. Not paying full price for this for sure.
