Yea, as I said, it's still got a way yet to go.

On a related note, does anyone want some Lascannons? Because I'm going to have a whole pile of spare ones soon...

More pictures! Thunderhawk now has all the Heavy Bolters and engines attached, still waiting for the Turbo Laser.

And I now have a pair of Land Speeder Tempests to add to my line up. Only one built/undercoated - the other is still in it's bag, waiting to be scrubbed. (Sorry about the terrible photo :wscared: )

And here's an image for size comparison for all of them.

I actually have a lot of IG tanks still sitting in boxes. Thinking about painting them... maybe.

Get an airbrush, some foundation paints and some washes and you could do the whole lot in an afternoon! :D

And now I have the second Tempest assembled, as well as two Thunderbolts to add to the collection. First one is built and my brother is painting it (He's an Ork, but he begged me to let him paint something...) and the second one is still being built. Pictures coming soon!

EDIT: Pictures!

Thunderbolts: Painted one is by my (Ork) brother.

Yay triple post :dodgy:

Anyway, content!

We're having a game of Apoc tomorrow in at the local GW (Mt Gravatt in Brisbane), so we're all packed up and ready to go!
Image
All up we're bringing along a whole stack of Space Marines and Orks (in the bag - it's two figure cases + the silver one) with a pair of Stompas, Thunderbolts, Thunderhawks, a Fighta-Bomba, a Shadowsword and Steel Eagle.

Some of my Brother's stuff

Somehow he managed to get a Baneblade chassis off one of his friends (lucky **** :dodgy:)
Image
Kustom Stompa. Head is in the case
Image
Klaw Stompa, scary **** that thing is. Head is also in the case
Image
The Fighta-Bomba!

And now my stuff

Thunderbolts!

Left one is the one previously shown painted by my brother. Right one is my handiwork

This one is painted by me.

And now the completely assembled and undercoated Thunderhawks. Stands are still setting so for safety I'm leaving them to stress test overnight with something to catch them if they fall. Fingers crossed it's all good.

(Ignore the unpainted bits - I'm getting to those, honest!)

Tempests are already packed so I can't show pictures but they're painted now. Might take some more tomorrow of everything in action.

Also, if anyone in Brisbane wants a massive game, drop me a line. We're always looking for fresh meat...

Not referring to 40k models in particular but general model kit building, but has anyone got any ideas where I can get a budget air compressor + air brush? I went to the hobby store but was looking at least $350+ for the set, and I honestly don't know if I want to spend that much for a hobby I haven't done in over 10 years.

If you hop on some modelling forums they should be able to direct you quite well, I understand your pain though my last one was $300+ from memory. You should be able to get some budget kits on places like eBay though I'd have thought which would be fine for getting the hang of airbrushing.

I've been painting some Tyranids and Eldar. I'm definitely more of a painter than a gamer, although a couple of my mates have started collecting Tau and Marines recently and we've had a couple of fun low points games, so we may build up larger forces soon. I'll post some pics of my Tyranids when I'm happy with them (probably never) :P

Loving the scratch built Thunderhawk too Da Chucky.
