I figured for the finals we may as well keep it all in the one thread. Might even do all of the 2012 season in one thread next year too.

Yeah for a few weeks there it was just you and me contributing to the thread. Hopefully there is more interest in the finals. Good to watch knowing I need not to worry about fantasy players getting the ball/not getting the ball while watching. Plus the games are the best v best. Bring them on!

Few tough games this week and really they could go either way. All should be close. And tips are still done on footytips.com, not sure if they still count in competitions.

Apart from the last 3 quarters of the Carlton vs. Essendon match there was great footy all weekend and some awesome skills on display.

Will be interesting to see how Carlton go against West Coast, kinda sucks that winning a final gets you a ticket to the old "House of Pain" in the west.

Should be two fantastic matches this weekend.

If Cox and Naitanui are on their game then I don't really see Carlton winning, but then Carlton can really switch it on when they need to, plus they have the best player in the comp as their captain!

I think the Hawthorn Sydney match will be a LOT closer, Sydney really showed that they meant business last week and on the flip side Hawthorn managed to get pretty bloody close to Collingwood.

Not a Sydney fan but would love to see them make it through to next week but think the Hawks by a few

Hate West Coast more than any other side (even Collingwood) But think they will do the Blues easy at home and hope that's it for them for the year.

I hope Sydney and West Coast both win just for he sack of interstate teams going further. But everyone knows either 4 teams playing this week could upstage Collingwood and Geelong who will be in the grand final. Carlton maybe a chance to beat Geelong next week but they have to win this week which is possible but unlikely imo.

On a semi-related topic, this Ross Lyon 'behind the back' deal with Freo was a surprise. I don't know how Freo could organise a new coach behind the back of Harvey and then tell him in the middle of a meeting that he is sacked and don't come back. Then Lyon organising this behind St Kilda's back. No loyalty there but that's professional footy.

Should be a Collingwood-Geelong grand final.

The Saturday game is on during the afternoon (2:20 EST) rather than night which I'm not sure what I'll prefer, probably night. If Geelong was playing Carlton instead it would have been night. But I suppose it lets West Coast fly home straight away after the game to prepare for the grand final next week (if they win). And bad luck to Fasolo and Goldsack who got dropped for Thomas and Reid.

I can definitely see a Hawthorn-Geelong Grand Final being a possibility though.
