PS3 Screen Flickering

So I had a quick look and couldn't find anything about this.

Every so often my TV will flicker off then back on while running the ps3. This only happens while using the ps3. I've googled it and there are some suggestions its the HDMI cable. However the issue happens sporadically. Some times It happens frequently and other times I can use my ps3 for hours and not have the issue.

At the moment the PS3 is hooked up to an LG 1080p TV. And my ps3 is full updated.

The issue happens more often while running through ps3 media server or running files off an external HDD. However even while it is sitting idle it will flicker.

Any ideas?

I had the same dealio, although my solution was to buy another PS3...

Mainly because I had a YLOD about 3 weeks after it started. Coincidentally I also got a new HDMI at the same time and that combo worked. Start with the cheapest option obviously, a $10 HDMI is a far sight cheaper than a new PS3!

i use to have that problem. turned out it was one of the teeth in the HDMI cable that went into the Tv/ps3 making it play up. other then that i donno as that may not be the problem u are having\

On another note. I went into JB and there are HDMI cables from $10 to $100.

Is there really a quality difference between HDMI cables? Is it work spending more money on an expensive one?

No. No difference what so ever. Get the cheapest you can!

there is but only the quality that there made. other then that both have nothing differant

but u buy a $300 monster HDMI compared to a $30 one dont mean the monster one will last for ever just has better quality cables ect in it
