Trackmania Nations Forever was just amazingly fun, so much so that I'm ashamed to say I never went on to buy the full game, as that free version was enough for me. A new Trackmania would be great.

EDIT - how did I miss this last year? The bump made me think it was new info lol. Good to put it on my radar anyway

Awesome, another Trackmania.
I played the original back when in 2005(ish), the game gave me hours of entertainment, I finished the entire game with gold rankings on everything. Granted I didn't do all of the work, it was a combined effort between me and my brother.

When 2 (Canyon) came out, I was pretty excited, I bought it, but forgot to fill out all my info completely, and they cancelled my payment for fraud. WHAT THE SHIIIII.... Ubisoft? So, I tried again and get a message that payment can't be done. I was sad. Quite pissed of I can't BUY a game.

Very tempted to pick up TrackMania 2 Canyon this week. Is anybody playing it, and if so thoughts? I'm tossing up on this or just getting United, despite its age I know I will love the **** out of it.

Loving all types of United and releases before that, Canyon handling is nowhere near United's "stadium" handling.
The best I can describe it by memory is Canyon handling at low speed is very tank heavy, then having any sort of real speed into a corner gives you NFS Hot Pursuit style drifting in corners...

I bought Canyon and within two months or less, even being semi skilled at it, gave it up and stuck with United.
TM2's Stadium upcoming release however,.. That I'm very interested in.

But yeah, it's face-meltingly awesome and you should absolutely grab it. Even just grab it to check out Nadeo's vision of an online presence.. what they're trying to do as far as creating a hub for all their games is very impressive and will hopefully be better realised by the end of this year (currently, and correct me if I'm wrong, they only have Canyon, Shootmania and the next TM expansion lined up).

EDIT: Stool being a United fan, no surprises that Canyon didn't really do it for you. Certainly Meare, if you're a United fan then get that instead. If you're relatively new to the series, Canyon has the gameplay and the pretties to make it worth your while.

Hmm, sounds like I would be better waiting for TM2 Stadium too. Signed up to the Valley and Stadium Beta's, hope I get a go at it.

United sounds the way to go for now, will prob pick it up later in the week, super keen on getting back into some TrackMania Many still playing United?

EDIT - You ninja'd that post in without me seeing Mellie lol! I've only ever played Nations (the free Stadium one) and love the hell out of that, and it's handling. I'm kind of wanting that feeling with improved visuals, so am a bit worried the handling of Canyon might disappoint me at first. Some of the vids I have seen look awesome though! Think I will play it safe for now and go United, and jump ship once Stadium is a bit closer on TM2

Maniaplanet (?) I was reading a little about today and I like the sounds of what they are doing. It features like that which can really set a game apart!

DayZ, that has been giving me the **** with connections, has really been frustrating me. I don't quite get it, I get in game and it stutters like ****, take a few steps stutter, take a few more steps stutter, yet any time I run it outside of DayZ it is fine. I end up stopping after 2min each time and giving up. Haven't managed a game of it again yet.

That said I just haven't been on at night at that time much either Wanna try and make it a session on Wednesday? Tonight and tomorrow are likely not going to be great for me.

If you're relatively new to the series, Canyon has the gameplay and the pretties to make it worth your while.

To be fair, While I don't like it,..I admittedly LOVED it for the first month solid, and if it was your style of racing then I'd say its the game to get also.

Odd, you sure that's not a graphics stutter you're seeing?

And when you said 'run it outside of DayZ' do you mean ArmA 2?

If you're sure it's about your connection and not your graphics settings, maybe surf the DayZ technical issues forum to see if anyone else has that issue? 10 minutes invested now means hours of sexy-time for you and I later
