No, not really.

There's about one local server that regularly gets a hand full of players.
Failing that there's always a match against bots if you've got a QW itch that needs a quick scratching.

I've been trying to play but I can never connect to online. Sometimes if I spam the 'join Online' button I can get in.

When I was in, there was 20 players so there does seem to be a small and hardcore crowd for it (as with most older shooters).

EDIT: LOL! Went back and checked.. the exact same players were on there.

They're bots.

Hahah :P

Regarding the bots on the GON server, if you want more/less, easier/harder give us a yell.
It's a simple enough thing to change.

As for your connection issue, I know the auth servers where down a little while ago but the issue was resolved.
Doesn't really sound like the problem you describe though :/

Sad that this game never took off... it was quite a bit of fun and the different classes / asymmetrical gameplay was unique, but I found it hard to play more than one round at a time.. not sure why.

Have to try find some time to get on and find a populated server.

Such a shame this game died out. It was one of the last truly great PC fps's that wasn't poisoned by the console market

Mmm.

Anyway, I see the Brink forum has gone, outlasted by ET:QW.

Ah, delicious irony. (I still don't know how SD screwed up Brink so badly).

Pity about Brink :( was hoping that would be the game that got me back into FPS. But alas it was not to be

Absolutely. The asymmetries killed it though. :/

TeamIPX are doing a bit of an ETQW revival during the 19th-23rd Oct 2012

Will probably use the GON server... its the best one around

Details are at http://teamipx.net/challenges/2789/etqw-revival

It would be EPIC to scratch that ETQW inch that cant be scratched with fail COD/BF3 clones and unfortunately Brink was bad...

Come on and get your stroyent on!

Best of Two is still the best ! :P

Didn't realize until doing a quick check after reading this today that it was down to only two servers now. Figured it would be at least 3 or 4 ! :o

If I find a moment to reinstall then a quick round or several could certainly be on the cards.
