Whilst i've had three XFX nVidia cards that have been solid and one Asus that was DOA :) You see what i'm getting at, right?

aye,

though i've yet to have a burnt out asus card myself,
and if u want to look at it deeper both the XFX and sapphire contributed dead 9800 and 8800 cards.

generally though when cards die on me, they die after heavy extensive use and i've yet to have a card DOA though my sample number is not that big at only around 12 or so.

personally i think every card will always eventually fail when extensively used, just a question of how robust they are to last as long as they could before heat and other factor wear the components down.

Been using my XFX HD4870 for almost a year now and its been powering along without any problems.
Given that the Xfire scalability of the 6xxx series is supposed to have improved substantially, its probably a pretty affordable way to match or exceed a GTX 580.

The new generation cards coming out at the end of this year or next will be worth the investment

I don't suppose any of you guys would be interested in doing some video card reviews for us?

We're looking for people from Melbourne, who would be keen to do YouTube videos.

This is a paid gig. :)

Cheers.
