Unread postby News Portal » 6 Feb 11, 11:41 am

The most significant change from Howard's last game, Fallout 3, is the all-new system for managing skills and perks; rather than perks being global, they will plug into skill trees in a manner reminiscent of the perks in Borderlands...

Ahh Horse Armour, the two words that are mentioned with each and every DLC debate.

280 perk type things? And if you only get a maximum of 50 that's going to make for some hard decisions along the way. Awesome. :)

Downloading the podcast to listen to later. Sounds like a lot of good info contained within.

I hope they realise that PC gamers want more than just "higher resolution textures"...

He's also promised that horse armour DLC will be available, even if there aren't any horses.
We're gonna do that regardless.

My god. It's all so clear now. Skyrim isn't real. It's all a sham, a fraud. A massive troll.

We're going to open empty boxes or download 10GB of "THE GAME" and pictures of horse armour on release day. Those clever fiends.

Augh augh augh the correct word for "horse armour" is "barding". It's called barding.

Not aimed at anyone in particular, just, augh.

Little late on that one. Should've bagged Bethesda back when they released it as the Horse Armor Pack. The ship be sailed on the Horse-Armor/Barding debate. ;)

I'd rather they not spend time on horses when they could use that time on things that aren't mainly for transport. I'd rather have another unique dungeon to explore instead. :)

If you actually listen to the podcast, Todd Howard says that they haven't ruled out horses and other mounts. Because of the excellent way games like Red Dead: Redemption used horses, they'll implement it if they feel like they've done it justice, and not just for the sake of having it there.

So, what, there's three weapon skills now? Why don't they just merge them all into the "hurty" skill and get it over with. Then they can combine athleticism and acrobatics into "movey" and all the magic schools into "casty". I'm sure it'll still win arpeegee of the 12 months from Game Informer or whoever is relevant now.

There will be around 280 perks in all, including ranked perks; a top-level character will only get 50, thus allowing for a tremendous variety of possible character builds.

Right...

1. Open Console.
2. player.addperk 0000xxxx
3. ????
4. Profit.
