Yes when there are gangs robbing people by the side of the road, sex robots violating people and numerous political or criminal factions trying to run the city and surrounding countryside, building bricks isn't the first thing that comes to mind in the post apocalyptic future.

he did have a point though, haphazard and hastily built settlement makes sense in a generation worth of age immediately after the holocaust, but for it to continue beyond that into several century worth of age is impossible given the natural population growth.

unless of course if they are trying to insinuate something about american populations mentality.

but yes it's a game, so hey who cares about that right? well the thing is seeing 1 haphazard house is one thing but when the style is used to EVERYTHING in the game it quickly tires out the senses.

I see 1 wasteland settlement... okay, i see another wasteland settlement that look identical, okay... i see another one, and another one, and another one and they all looked like they copy and pasted it (which they technically did with the game editor).

it would be MIGHTY nice if... you know, we get a different color palette a bit more, a bit more art design i mean they did anchorage and that wasn't too bad art wise though gameplay wise is another story.

sometimes i feel like i am playing WoW where i am PERMANENTLY stuck in the barren.

Slums have existed for hundreds of years in the real world, I don't see how they're going to disappear a generation after a nuclear war.

Their portrayal of the Mojave is actually spot on.

Inside the Strip casions, everything is fairly nice. In the slums, lots of things are in rubble, like a real slum. In the NCR military position at hoover dam, everything is fairly well organised without rubble and you can see wheree building effort has gone. The mjoave desert wasn't critically affected by nukes so it is of a fairly close climate to the modern day mojave. Goodsprings is actually very similar to the real Goodsprings, complete with chain link fences in the same spots.

No one has the money outside of the Strip to build anything, since the Strip sucks everything into itself.

It would be interesting in the next fallout game though to see major cities like Shady Sands, and how they are 200 years later.

Still, how about removing the rubble off your own bed, the bed you sleep in?

when i enter someones house
( sometimes invited sometimes not, get off my back)
There where skeletons on the farking bed, bury your dead, its not that hard
the guy was living there and he said hes parents died a long time ago, i looked in his house for "supplies" and his parents where still on the bed they died on, they where skeletons, honestly bury your parents.

I think if you live in your house for more then 1 week, your going to clean it up, get all the rubble, throw out all the junk ect.

People aren't as hopelessly useless as you think.

also some of the creatures in fallout : NV are comically cartoonish, never got that in fallout :3.
How many fragile and beautiful things have perished because they lacked the strength needed to survive.

If you make an **** out of your self, there will always be someone to ride you.

That's because Fallout 3 wasn't true to the Fallout Universe.

Vault Boy is a cartoon. Fallout is cartoony, not Saving Private Ryan 200 Years Later.

And this is exactly the reason I don't use Fellout. I like my URWL mods that let me make the world more cartoony.

Well step off the strip in Vegas at the moment and what you see in Fallout NV isn't actually that far off how it is now to be honest, probably less poop on beds in NV :P

NV is trying to convey the feeling that it is an area constatnly under siege by gangs, there is little in the way of organisation and safe civilisation - outside of a barricaded NV which still have warring factions within it. While it would of been nice to see more maintained areas it does convey the feel that 200+ years on that area of the world is still in ruin.

Edit: Hmm meji, responding to a two year old thread, well played >_<
