Movember 2010

Unread postby the 13th » 25 Oct 10, 9:46 pm

Well its that time of year again, next week MOvember begins. An entire month dedicated to changing the face of mens health ansd this year I join the mission. I'm registered and everything all ready to start.

http://au.movember.com/mospace/644972

Just getting the ball rolling on this one as no-one had started a topic this year yet.

For those who dont know what its all about here is a brief expolination I 'borrowed' from the website.

"Funds are committed to our men’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue: the national depression initiative and the Movember Foundation"

So for the men among us will you be growing a mo to support mens health? Will you just donate to the cause and keep your lip free from hair thankyou very much? Or are you a little indifferent about the whole thing?

For the woman? What about your thoughts?

I donate to several people, but the amount is always based on their worthiness. Grow something special, I give a good amount at the end. Grow something lame (I'm looking at you Ignant!), and I don't donate as much. But every year I donate at least $100 across several friends.

One day I'm going to do it. I've had a goatee (and now beard) since 1994. There are two people on these forums who knew me before I grew it, but it has been there for 16 years solid, no breaks. To shave that off for Movember, I'd be wanting to raise a hell of a lot before I considered putting blade to face. Like breaking records kinda lots of money. lol

I'm with slaine, movember would involve me shaving to start so it can go **** itself.

i hadnt really given it much thought. its about time for me to shave (exams almost over) so i guess i could.

whether i donate or receive donations depends a lot on what end i need to pay for (moving house) and how much time i have to get registered (lots of work).

is there a womens form of movember where they can, um... style... themselves... to raise *cough* funding?

if not there should be!

not meaning to sound inappropriate or anything, nor do i want to think about verifying if any of my friends did that... but it's an idea :p

I've decided to do it this year. Finally with a girlfriend who will let me :D
She may start to regret that decision, but I hope not :\

Here's my MoSpace

A week in it's... visible, but hardly impressive.
