New Logitech Keyboard eschews Batteries, Wires

Unread postby News Portal » 2 Nov 10, 2:34 am

It's becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of a decent performance mouse or keyboard unless you want to go wireless - and anybody whose had the batteries go half way through a RTS match knows how unhelpful a spaghetti-free desk can be.

But what if your wireless keyboard didn't use batteries...? Has Logitech discovered wireless power transmission?!

I'm assuming that it does have batteries, headline notwithstanding. Those solar cells have to send the power somewhere. ;)

Personally, I'm happy with my diNovo and its charger stand. Similar look and feel, just not a full keyboard like this one.

I've got a wired Sharkoon Fireglider Mouse and an old clunker wired Compaq keyboard! (I know, I tell my friends its probably the best thing Compaq ever made ;-) ) I dunno, I just prefer the old clunky buttons over the newer ones...

I run a logitech G15 orange keyboard (wired) and a razor black mamba wireless mouse.

If I forget to pop the mouse on the charging cradle the battery life bugs the **** out of me, but the cable plugin is as good as any wired mouse (I also have a g9x wired logitech mouse), so it's not all bad.

I would still recommend my mouse, just need to remember to pop it on the cradle when you stop using it.

G15 Wired keyboard and wired Verbatim Rapier V2 mouse.
But I think my mouse is starting to die, maybe time to invest in a G9.

sigh...

i suppose logitech will never produce a mechanical keyboard judging from the trend of their peripheral.

and 80USD for a scissor switch keyboard? .... and photocell fine...

dangnabit, screw gadgets and all these extra gimmicks ... the only thing important in keyboard is that it needs to be good to type on to the exclusion of all else.
